So you guys know how much I hate this iPad I'm using right now while my great Lenevo is being fixed.

was thinking of picking up a chrome book, around $200+ to use as a back up

are they good ??

what are the pros and cons ?

what Can't I do on a chrome book that my laptop can ?

can I run Sportsoptions / DonBest ? ( Java based )

Photoshop ? ( Adobe based )

any ny info is appreciated

Think of a chrome book as a tablet with a keyboard or better yet, a laptop with no storage. Everything is stored on the cloud or a USB.

Any web surfing will be as if on a PC.

I have 2. One is older. Batter life is freakin awesome

So anything you save on a chrome book goes to the cloud.

I wouldn't consider it a work laptop BUT I would definitely recommend it. ESPECIALLY for the low cost relative to what you get.

Very fast for just internet uses SSD.

still would probably give a slight nod on a regular laptop though

I'm looking for a backup SSD laptop for the road as well...I thought I had seen plenty with less than 2gb memory...having some hard drive space is ideal.

Just need it for a backup
Would never replace my Lenevo t440s unless it's
With another.
I had it built to have everything I need, especially
When traveling.

I'm guessing with the SSD it's the ones I see that are $400+

Since you are such a Lenovo fan this would probably be the perfect backup for you

i use toshiba chromebook 2

chromebook is good for anything you can run off of chrome including VMware
not the best for using external HD for movies (the vlc app is limited). it's better if you're watching youtube based stuff
for work, as long as your documents are online (ie. google docs) it'll work fine

they are getting better as far as design, keyboard feel, etc. but the limitations are still pretty stringent
if your chromebook can run apps, that's just a bonus. to think that you're going to be that much more productive is kind of a joke
