Is it time for the return of the XFL?
WWE founder and chairman Vince McMahon will announce that he will make another attempt at starting a professional football league, sources told ESPN.
Alpha Entertainment, a company formed by McMahon, issued a media advisory Thursday saying that McMahon would have a "major sports announcement" on Thursday afternoon.
Last month, WWE filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission stating that McMahon would sell approximately $100 million in stock to fund Alpha Entertainment, a company founded to make investments "including professional football."
It is not clear whether McMahon will use the name XFL, the ill-fated football league that he co-owned with NBC and that lasted only one season in 2001, but Alpha has filed trademarks for that name.

Fall of the NFL? Sure...The Pats/Jaguars game was the highest rated television program in the past year. That's any television show. Most viewed program since last year's Super Bowl. And that was with Jacksonville in it, not one of the biggest television markets....

They said nobody with priors, not even a DUI. Vince said Tim Tebow can play in it hahahaahahha. Tim Tebow, the child of God, is going to play in the XFL. That's just hilarious. Vince will have all the nick name and characters. TO, ocho, trent rich, washed up mother fuckers. He needs to go crazy with it. Need to have like an on fire football they can throw for one down or some shit. I don't want to see some church league football.

Good thing about it is it's only football competition is what CFL and Arena league? People will still check it out, I will. But doubt it will be any good.

It's going to come on after NFL/CFB end?

Be better to do it from like mid-June to late August when nothing else is on but baseball.

I think if the execution was almost perfect that it could work but I really don't think Vince McMahon is the guy to do it. He already failed once at this and knows nothing about real sports. Obviously a brilliant marketer/promoter to get people to watch wrestling every week when it is FAKE but no reason to believe he can pull this off.

Of course then he will be labeled a racist because he is not black and stopping master P and the other homeboys from buying a team as 73 rappers all pool their money into owning 6% of the team each. That would be comical though as you know they wouldnt get along and one would eventually shoot the others.
