Following Wednesday's post draw and the latest odds update, Demling finalized his Pegasus World Cup picks and listed where he believes all 12 horses will finish Saturday.
He's not high on Sharp Azteca, questioning whether the second-biggest favorite can go the distance.
"All three of his wins at Gulfstream were one-turn races and I'm bumping him down a few spots because of distance questions," Demling said. Demling has Sharp Azteca penciled in for a fifth-place finish. He's a horse to avoid.
One surprise: War Story (25/1), who finished fourth in the Breeder's Cup Classic, makes a strong run despite 25/1 odds.
Don't be fooled by War Story's long-shot Pegasus World Cup odds. In addition to his strong Breeder's Cup showing, he has three fourth-place finishes and wins in the Brooklyn Invitational and Queens County in the last 13 months.
Demling is especially high on a major sleeper that would net any backer a huge payday. He's sharing which horse it is, along with his entire projected leaderboard, over at SportsLine.

Gun Runner (4-5) - Expect Gun Runner to be in a stalking position and then he will pounce and win one more time before his career comes to an end. The only thing that could hinder Gun Runner is that he's never raced at Gulfstream Park, but he's raced over 10 surfaces and he's a champion. I don't expect anything but a win.
--2. West Coast (8-1) - Won five in a row before the Breeders' Cup and developed into what I would call the best 3-year-old in the country last year.
--3. Collected (8-1) - Ran second to Gun Runner in the Breeders' Cup Classic but returned to the track with a disappointing third in the San Antonio Stakes. He needs to be on the front end and I would think he'll be there but get passed by the top two in the final stage of this race.
--4. Seeking the Soul (25-1) - He will be flying in the end and trainer Dallas Stewart has a history for getting a long shot to run well in a big race.
--5. Sharp Azteca (6-1) - All three of his wins at Gulfstream were one-turn races and I'm bumping him down a few spots because of distance questions.
--6. War Story (25-1) - Has three consecutive fourth-place finishes, including the Breeders' Cup Classic. He won't finish quite that high this time.
--6. Gunnevera (15-1) - He's never won a Grade I race and has been my nemesis for a year. When I pick him to do well, he doesn't and when I do, he runs a good race. He'll try to make a move in the end but so will others.
--8. Toast of New York (20-1) - I'm going with the gut that he won't be in top form.
--9. Stellar Wind (30-1) - She was awful in the Breeder's Cup Distaff and finished a distant eighth. Now in the barn of trainer Chad Brown, she's up against it in this one.
--10. Singing Bullet (30-1) - Just seems like a lot to ask from a horse that has one win in his last five allowance starts. But he is owned by Stronach Stables, whose owner Frank Stronach owns Gulfstream and puts on the race.
--11. Giant Expectations (30-1) - Won the San Antonio on the front end; but won't be able to do that against this bunch.
--12. Fear the Cowboy (30-1) - Just can't see it happening. In fact, he should be the longest price on the board.
