I thought they had fixed the slow down issue a couple of years ago...What is the version number. I may go back to Norton from Avast .

Yes, it does.

Haven't used protection on my pc for years now & no issues.

However, If you visit questionable sites get & use a separate device with protection solely for that.

Yes there was a fix a long time ago, and I just went back to them with Norton 360. No slow downs as of yet

As mentioned above. Used to and the free version still might. Also, dont have more than 1 antivirus on your PC.

It's funny, I had a 5+ year old desktop HP computer and was having some problems which HP (smart friend service fixed)..She..the tech noticed I was not running any Anti Virus except for the Windows Defender... and told me that Norton was the best.. I downloaded it and my hard drive died a few months later which made the computer about 6 years old... It wasn't because of Norton's software, but the computer had a lot of use watching baseball games and lots of software handicapping programs for the races. I bought a new HP computer and the free Anti Virus which came installed was by McAfee. I hated it because my Email program would not run with some setting that I could not fix, so deleted it and am using a free Avast program, which is not bad, but constantly wants to sell you something. Malwarebytes is my favorite paid thing.. The paid version stops webpages that are infected, the free version does not.. Funny how HP went from Norton to McAfee in a short time.

almost all PC's come pre-loaded with Mcafee now, especially if they have Intel chips, since they own half of Mcafee

Haven't used one in years and really haven't had any problems since torrents kind of faded. I do run a free scanner from time to time and do a few things that anyone with average computer knowledge can do.
