So many top-ranked teams are getting knocked-off like flies on a regular basis. Example; Un-ranked Baylor Blows-out 10th Ranked Kansas
I could list many more.......

So basically you are saying that unranked teams should have zero chance to win against a ranked team? Doesn't make sense

I'm suggesting that un-ranked teams often beat ranked teams, therefore, rankings should not be the sole consideration when handicapping basketball games.

of course not, but of course you could get that extra point added to them when its public popular teams

Ranking is not meant for handicapping IMO, its for seeding

Agreed, seedings come bracket selection time, but TV networks along with their analysts and commentators use the rankings to hype-up a game to for TV ratings to increase viewing....We bettors need to ignore that talk like the plague.

I concur, AP and ESPN and Coaches Polls / rankings don't mean anything

All of these teams are playing 35 games or more schedules (when you count up the tournaments) as a result, these "ranked" teams are burn-out; Example: Michigan State has played 5 games in 12 days; The travel alone is brutal; heck, the NBA doesn't play that many games. Forget their rankings when handicapping.

Does anyone have the ATS record this year of unranked home favs vs ranked opponents?

Used to be a good angle, then cooled off with some .500 seasons. Stopped tracking it.

Yep every week it seems...

Exactly Stock.................When handicapping sporting events, it is very important to examine all aspects:
A possible "angle" would be to consider how "rankings" affect the odds-makers "thinking"....possibly this could be a handicappers advantage/angle......Maybe;
Most odds-makers are very sharp fellows......but also human. What's that old saying? "To err is human".
