In college I did a few times, probably wasn't -4200 but bet on him and Nadal on separate occasions as big favorites to win like $12 or something and lost both times. Haven't bet on Tennis since

Have a couple buddies that run books and they've shown me where players have done it. I don't get it, the risk/reward isn't there.

But it DOES get done, for sure.

A big reason people do it with credit books is to freeroll. Get down 400, bet a -1000, get back to even or don't pay. And most of the time you will win so it can take awhile for the bookie to know you aren't going to pay, if ever.

1 of my credit books won't even put out big ML's like that anymore.

Some people like to parlay it with other big favs or a dog.

Sounds crazy but back in the day, that was an absolute lock in the early rounds UNLESS it was clay and the pool to upset him gets a little deeper.

What are the odds this year for a Nadal Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome sweep??? He probably loses 1 of those like Madrid.

Once I bet on one of the Williams sisters because it was the only thing left to bet on. They were a super huge fav (maybe -1000 to -2000) and I figured no way she loses.

She got hurt and forfeit the match. Nothing that could've been predicted. learned my lesson.

I might do a -300 or -400 in a parlay, maybe did so 5 times in my life.

-4200? never, I'd rather throw a small bet on the dog

Last college football season I put small ML action on all the very large dogs in one week, went something like 0-10. Then a week or two or three later, a few 25+ point dogs won straight up and it would have been a monster day. All about timing

Who does huge moneyline favorites as a parlay in a sport like college football when there is literally zero chance of Mercer beating Alabama but the ML wil be something like -167,000
