Does the word "basketball" offend you?

No you say, well it should. Apparently it's a racial slur as in "you're a basketball?"
and it will get your ass thrown out at a Blackhawks game.

CHICAGO — The Washington Capitals’ Devante Smith-Pelly, a visiting black player,
was taunted by four male fans shouting “basketball, basketball, basketball” Saturday
night during the Chicago Blackhawks’ game against the Capitals.

Smith-Pelly was serving a major penalty for fighting Chicago’s Connor Murphy when the
fans taunted him in the penalty box. An off-ice official sitting next to Pelly-Smith
notified building security, and the fans were ejected.

I get it, NBA basketball players are predominately black but seriously, that offends you?

minorities are ultra-sensitive to this stuff, no doubt, but i think we all can figure out they were yelling basketball because blacks play it. a few years ago fans threw bananas at Wayne Simmonds and while I have no idea if he actually likes to eat bananas we all know what the suggestion was.

i'd rather them just yell "******, ******, ******" into the penalty box and not try to be cute about their intentions.

of course if Dirk Nowitzki had a group of bruthas yelling "curling, curling, curling" at him it wouldn't have the same effect because he wouldn't have given a damn.

it does now, UConn basketball is absolutely depressing me while James and Durant make me want to call them names that aren't appropriate and out of character (although with all the nonsense they're spewing as a whole, about everything, I'm thinking those thoughts more so than I ever have before)
