The TV Networks and college basketball is seriously missing out on some serious revenue by not having daily college basketball games during the day.

At night there are 40 basketball games playing at the same time along with up to a dozen NBA games and up to a dozen NHL games. Not counting prime time television shows.

The competition is fierce .

I would imagine a live basketball game every day even if it’s something minor like DePaul vs Temple would beat out programs like around the horn and his and hers etc...

Sign up a deal with a mid major conference or 2 and play a nationally televised college basketball game every day at noon.Depaul vs Temple would get much better ratings at noon then it would at 8pm when it’s competing against 40 other cbb games and a dozen NBA games.

The attendance at the actual game would be slightly lower but the real money is in the tv deals anyway and this would more then make up for it.

The student athletes would not get home from a road game at 2am and have to be in class 5 hrs later.

Everyone wins.

The student athletes , the networks, the sports books.

Everyone

This would be a great idea for a network like CBS sports to find a niche in the market .

Right now CBS sports is televising games like Fordham vs Tulane at 8pm while ESPN is showing Duke vs North Carolina and TNT is broadcasting Golden St vs Boston.

There are probably only about 14 people watching CBS sports at that time of night when all that other stuff is going on .

how would they fill the stadiums

Most of these mid majors only have 800 people go to the games anyway.
The money is in the tv deals anyway .

Im not saying play Kentucky vs Kansas at noon On a Tuesday .

I would love the idea. And I’m sure there are many, maybe not on this site, out there like me who are retired and would love to be able to watch live college games during the day. Personally, I’d love to be able to easily watch some of these teams more often that end up as 12,13,14,15 seeds in the tournament.

Would be interesting to see college baskets in the afternoon daily.......maybe they make a switch to it when sports betting is legalized through out the US?

Then let's see what college sports says about integrity when they're rolling in the TV deals on a Tuesday afternoon, & the other day time games through out the week.
