Both Alabama and Tennessee have landed a graduate transfer quarterback. Before signing
Gardner Minshew (East Carolina), the Tide only had three scholarship quarterbacks on the
roster. Tennessee will get the services of Stanford transfer Keller Chryst. Chryst will be given
a chance to compete for the starting role while Minshew will be security for a rash of injuries
and be more of a practice player. He indicated he wanted to be a coach and spend his final
year learning under Saban.

Vanderbilt will also sign QB Evan Shirreffs from Miami.

Lots of quarterbacks transferring this off season.

Just wait till after spring practices. There will be more transfers then when the junior and seniors guys trying to lock down a starting job don't. They will want to go play somewhere

Good point Razor.....

I saw a list of all the grad transfer quarterbacks a few days ago and I can't remember where
I saw it. I'll post the list if I can find it.

And the Florida Gators keep searching for a decent QB to lead their offensive unit to fame and glory once again like they did during years past.
It seems like the days of a Tim Tebow, Danny Wuerffel, Rex Grossman, Kerwin Bell and Steve Spurrier (et al) at the Gator helm are long gone.......Sad..................

Hey Mack, take a look at some good ole "healthy" Alabama girls dancing. The CFB forum is....well, lacking a lot
of interest right now. Might as well entertain ourselves.

You Tube...Mark Knopfler-Chet Atkins-Poor boy blues. (4.03 HD)

Some healthy Alabama country girls having some fun.

Sidenote: No reason with the talent in Florida that the Gators would ever need quarterbacks...maybe head coaches
who ..... well you know.

Thanks for the hot tip regarding those "Alabama Dancing Girls". Keep in mind that us older guys have to pace ourselves when it comes to this sort of thing. LOL

Sidenote: The drought for a halfway decent quarterback at Florida is baffling indeed. I think you have it pegged Clover, it's all about coaching/recruiting.

Heard the UT QB, Guantanamo Bay, father is raising hell about this....Chryst should be starter game 1. With him I see the Vols getting to 6 wins.

Agree, Chryst likely wins the job there.

The ECU kid made a hell of a move: he could have come back to be the starter at ECU, but chose to be the backup (or #3) at Alabama w/ an agreement to get a GA and/or analyst job afterwards. He wants to be a coach, so this was a great/calculated move.

Any of the Bama guys think Hurts transfers if he doesn't win the starting job? Also, will the starter be announced coming out of spring?

Either Franks has a complete 180 or he gets beaten out by the freshman. Either way, it's not a good situation for UF. Mullen will have to make chicken salad out of....

The backup at Ohio State could very well end up transferring (Joe Burrow) as a grad transfer w/ 2 years of eligibility. I could see Urban pushing him to UF.

Gardner Minshew has changed his mind and will attend Washington State, not Alabama

Grad transfers are allowed to change schools right up until they enroll for courses

Michigan: As the Wolverines got their spring practice underway the other day, all eyes will be on the offense.
Michigan ranked 105th in the nation in total offense in 2017, averaging just 349 yards per game. Only Illinois
and Rutgers averaged fewer yards per game among Big Ten programs last fall. The offense had issues at the
quarterback position all season long, resulting in the nation's 111th ranked passing offense with just 9 touchdown
passes and 10 interceptions. Maryland, Minnesota and Rutgers were the only passing offenses in the Big Ten to
average fewer passing yards.

Harbaugh is also trying to determine who will call plays this season. Pep Hamilton (passing game coordinator),
Jim McElwine (wide receivers) and Ed Wariner (line coach) are all candidates.

Important spring drills for ole Harbaugh!

Ole Miss grad transfer Shea Patterson still has not been cleared by the NCAA to join Michigan.

Ridiculous NCAA....either clear him or don't.

This is shocking to me. I'm not sure what Leach sold him on, but he says he wants to be a coach. He has no chance in hell to be an NFL QB, so he should have taken the Alabama position.

Mac Jones better get his ass ready! He went to the same HS as Chipper Jones, btw.

There are 6 Ole Miss non-senior's who transferred. The other 5 are waiting on the Patterson ruling. Not to defend the NCAA, but Michigan literally just applied for the waiver. So, once this decision comes back the other 5 will do the same (UF has WR Van Jefferson waiting to hear). It seems they'll get the waiver....but you never know w/ the NCAA. It's a joke!

Mac Jones has one more year with the Tide before he transfers. Why he didn't sign with Kentucky out of
high school is a wonder. The kid had a chance to play and signed where he had NO chance to play.

He's gone after this season.

yeah once Tagovailoa (Tua's brother) and Tyson both sign with Tide in mid-DEC he will be gone unless he prefers to stay one more year, get his degree, then transfer to any school without penalty and still 2 years of eligibility left. obviously Jalen won't be going pro in 2019 so that will be 4 scholarship QB plus Mac.

The local kids who go to Bolles are mostly from "old money" and many of them go of to UGA, Alabama, and other deep south/traditional schools. They're "too cool" to go to UF or FSU. I'm sure for Mac it was cool he was being recruited by Alabama. Colin Peek also went to Bolles. Their 1996 team had 11 D1 signees, including a couple of Alabama signees, Chris Reir and Travis Carroll (Reier got injured and never played and Carroll transferred to Florida). I agree w/ you that Jones should have signed w Kentucky.
