I shopped around and got LA Kings at 40-1, while it's 28-1 here, figured there should be some value in that.

The Devils have a sneaky squad this and are probably better than Washington or Philadelphia at this point.

I dont keep up with the west at all, but gotta be significant value there. 6 of the top 9 favs are in the east. thats not even logical.

I'm strangely a bolts and caps fan. Bolts absolutely are the team to beat...

Caps are the worst team they've had in a while. Idk what it is either, but unless they can flick a switch, I wouldn't be shocked at a first round elimination.

It's all Holtby. Something is clearly wrong with him.

You’re right on with the Caps. Holtby and the defense are a mess, they’ll lose to New Jersey, Philadelphia or Pittsburgh in the first round, IMO. The Jets could have some value out West. They certainly have the fire power to match with anyone, if they can get strong play in net they’ll be tough to beat.

It's bias for sure, but I only bet it cause I saw a huge difference in pay out, I don't bet them every year or anything close to that. Kings just got their sniper back, who's been out all season (Carter) and he's scoring in bunches, and they are getting hot at the right time. With Carter back in the line up they just defeated Vegas twice. Nashville is the team to beat in the west IMO, but at 40-1 theres plenty to spread around in the playoffs. Sharks is another possibility as at 25-1, but the Kings have Doughty, Quick, Kopitar, Carter, all guys who have won 2 cups together. The Kings also picked up Phaneuf at the deadline who's a defenseman that can score, and has been hot since joining the team

Also I look at ROW and goal differential stat. ROW is amount of wins excluding shootout wins. There's no shoot outs in the playoffs so teams that have a better ROW will probably do better in the playoffs. Goal differential speaks for itself. Kings have both a solid ROW and a solid goal differential

Both William Hill and Westgate have the Wild at 30-1, so Atlantis Reno. I put another bet on the Wild Just now. Their spot in the playoffs is a little more secure than the Kings so it's a safer bet.

Two SOUTHERN teams.......go figure!

I remember a few years ago when players refused to go to Nashville.

Tampa Bay has one of the best organizations in hockey right now.

Is 40:1 still available for the kings?

No I just checked Atlantis moved it down to 25-1 now. Westgate has 30-1, thats the best that I see.

What I find interesting in the NHL this year is there’s only 5 teams with a positive goal differential in the East. Only 5 in the red in the West. All in all the West is best again.

West is a crapshoot. Any of the 8 teams currently in playoff position have a shot of ending up in the cup finals. Though Winnipeg and Nashville have to be considered the cream of the crop.

Things are simpler in the East. I have to believe it’s between Boston, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay. But if I was going to take one longshot I think Columbus at 51/1 offers the most value. I don’t think New Jersey or Philadelphia make the playoffs. Columbus and Florida will.

I took the Bruins a couple months ago at 20/1 and the field against Vegas laying 7 to 1.
