Tell me about the Roku or something similar

I guess I would be considered somewhat of a cord cutter. I have sling TV and netflix and to this point have only used those on my phone and laptop.

I have just purchased my first smart TV and have it hooked up ready to go. I have been meaning to make this purchase for quite sometime but just put it off. Picture is alot better though.

So what is best device/ package to watch TV with sling and netflix and hopefully maybe add more channels. Watching TV on your laptop is just not remotley the same as an actual real TV.

I would of course like to get the normal sports channels but I also like other networks as well like Nat GEO and all of that.

Is it as simple as paying $30 for a roku and being able to watch sling TV from my actual TV? Is that different than a slingbox?

Please advise and give suggestions.

I am not well versed in this area. I have heard the word "kodi" thrown around. There is a guy on here selling something similar I think that gives people 500K channels or whatever. I don't exactly trust that.

I also have Amazon Prime. It seems I accidentally or probably got tricked into purchasing that if that helps.

If you buy a roku you still need to pay for services, just like a regular firestick.

If your going to pay a monthly $30, use either the playstaion service or Youtube tv. i prefer the ps service.

And you can jailbreak your own firestick in like an hour. This guy makes very up to date videos on how to.

Its true step by step that he makes very easy.

Get amazon fire stick and nitro tv. Best thing out there. Nitro is better than kodi.
