MLB Weekend Survivor Rules

$20 per entry, 3 for $50

Contest begins Friday, March 30. Signups will be accepted until 12PMET.

-You must pick one team to win 2 games of the Friday-Sunday 3-game weekend series each week. Once you pick a team, you will no longer be able to use that team for the remainder of the contest.

-Only Friday-Sunday full games count for the contest. If a real series begins on a Thursday or ends on a Monday, only Friday-Sunday will be used. If a suspended game is finished as part of the series, it will not count towards the survivor contest. If a rained out game is made up on Monday, it will not count as part of the contest. If a Friday-Sunday set contains 4 games due to a doubleheader, only the first three will be used.

If a series ends 1-1 due to scheduling or weather, the series will then be decided based on greater run differential, then greater hit differential, then lower error differential. If still tied, both teams will be graded as losses. If a series ends 1-0, that winning team will be graded as a winner. If a series is cancelled entirely, both teams are graded as losses.

REBUYS

For the first 4 weeks of the contest, losing entries will be allowed to “buyback” into the contest. The buyback schedule is as follows:

After Week 1: $25, After Week 2: $35, After Week 3: $50, After Week 4: $75

From Week 5 on, all entries eliminated are final and there are no further buybacks.

Buybacks are not required, but if you do buyback, it must be received before Friday’s deadline. If not received, that entry will be removed from the contest. If you buyback, that losing team still cannot be used by your entry for the remainder of the contest.

PICK DEADLINE

All picks are due Friday at 12PMET each week. It is advised to get your picks in as early as possible, as you can always change them prior to the deadline. An e-mail will follow with a spreadsheet of all that week’s picks. You must verify your picks for any errors. If the error is my fault, I will correct it prior to the first game starting for that weekend. Once the first game starts, the SPREADSHEET BECOMES FINAL, and any errors that might exist will stand, regardless of who made the error. If such an error results in your having a duplicate pick, that entry will then be eliminated from the contest.

If at any point, there is a sole survivor after a week is over, that entry will be deemed the winner of the contest. If all entries are eliminated in a given week, then the contest continues to the next week with all those previous week’s entries staying alive in the contest.

There can be a maximum of 27 weeks/picks in this contest. If multiple entries survive the entire schedule, they will split the prize. Once the contest is narrowed down to minimal entries, splits can be proposed. They will be accomodated for as long as the split/chop is a unanimous vote.

No administration fees are taken out of the prize pool whatsoever. 100% of the prize is distributed to the winner(s) at the conclusion of the contest.
****** and Venmo are accepted. If you use ******, please do not mention Survivor pools in the memo notes. Leave it blank. If you use Venmo, I must first add you as a friend before sending your entry fees.
