Fox News hosts were among President Trump’s biggest critics on Friday after he signed the $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill.
Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity, who both reportedly talk to Trump regularly, used their shows to tear into Trump and the GOP over the bill, which Ingraham described as “Christmas” for Democrats.
“This was like Christmas for Democrats,” she said. “Meanwhile, Trump gets a fraction of what he wanted.”
Trump threatened early Friday to veto the bill, but backed down hours later. He told Congress that he would “never sign another bill like this again,” but signed it because of the need to fund the military.
“It pains me to say this, but the president did have a choice,” Ingraham said Friday. “He could have called Congress back to town and make them pass a continuing resolution until his priorities were funded and we explain this mess to the American people. I tried, in vain, to warn him many times this week.”Trump said he would veto the bill because it did not include the level of funding he wanted for his proposed wall on the border with Mexico or a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Hannity also said he thinks Trump should have vetoed the bill and forced Congress to stay in Washington.
“I personally wish the president vetoed this bill, made them stay in Washington,” he said. “Make them keep their promises. What happened to the Republican party—whatever happened to the party that believed in fiscal responsibility?”
Hannity warned that the GOP “will have nobody to blame but themselves if they lose” in the midterm elections.
Other conservative voices, including Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge, also slammed Trump for signing the bill.

Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham Warn Trump Will Be Impeached After Spending Bill Signing: ‘Congratulations, President Schumer!’
[Newsweek]
Josh Keefe, Newsweek•March 23, 2018

President Donald Trump signed a $1.3 trillion spending bill at the White House on Friday, and members of the far-right of the president’s party are not happy.

The legislation avoids a government shutdown and keeps the government running until September, but deficit hawks attacked the president for signing one of the largest increases in federal spending in years. Conservatives also attacked the president for signing a bill that failed to fully fund a wall on the southern border.

Trump had tweeted earlier in the day that he was considering vetoing the bill over its lack of funding for the border wall, and its failure to offer a solution for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also known as DACA. At the signing ceremony, Trump said he thought about vetoing the bill, but ultimately deemed the legislation necessary to create “by far the strongest military we’ve ever had.”

Many conservatives on Twitter said passage of the bill was a win for Democrats. Conservative provocateur Ann Coulter mocked the signings by tweeting "Congratulations, President Schumer," in reference to Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Fox News host and Trump supporter Laura Ingraham, meanwhile, claimed that by signing the bill, the president had furthered his chances of being impeached if Democrats win back control of the House in the 2018 midterms.

The final version of the 2,000-page bill wasn’t unveiled until Wednesday, giving Congress just a few hours to read the legislation before voting on it. The short time frame prompted Trump to declare that he would “never sign another bill like this again.”

“Nobody read it. It’s only hours old,” Trump said.

Rush Limbaugh: Watching Trump sign spending bill was like seeing him 'go back up' the escalator
by Naomi Lim
| March 23, 2018 07:02 PM

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh said President Trump signing a $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill into law on Friday made him feel like he was witnessing Trump "go back up" the escalator.

"I try to be a guy governed by my thoughts, but I’m not liking the way I’m feeling. I’m feeling like I just saw Donald Trump get on the escalator and go back up," Limbaugh said on his radio show Friday, referring to the scene where Trump announced his candidacy for president in June 2015 at Trump Tower in New York City.

While Limbaugh said he understood spending was necessary for the Trump administration's infrastructure aspirations, he said he disliked how congressional Republicans capitulated to the Democrats' demands because of a "stupid ass government shutdown fear."

He added that many of the president's immigration policy agenda items were "stripped away" from the final draft of the bill, warning it may be the "last piece of meaningful legislation" before the 2018 midterm elections.

"In addition to feeling like I just saw Donald Trump go back up the escalator, I’m not feeling like anything that happened today was game changing," the radio host continued. "This seemed much the same as we have become accustomed to in watching Washington function. And it doesn’t feel right."

Limbaugh was not the only right-wing commentator to criticize Trump for signing the spending instrument.

Conservative political pundit Ann Coulter skewered Trump in a series of tweets Friday, suggesting the president could face impeachment for not vetoing the proposal.

Trump Has Screwed His Voters Repeatedly, Ann Coulter, 'In Trump We Trust' Author, Tweets While Making Stormy Daniels Joke

T.marcin

,NewsweekMarch 26, 2018

One would think it would be hard for President Donald Trump to anger the writer of a book fawningly titled: In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!
But Trump found a way.
Conservative personality Ann Coulter is not happy with the president. Less than a day after the 60 Minutes interview with adult film actress Stormy Daniels aired—in which she alleged an affair with the former reality TV star turned commander in chief—Coulter on Monday tweeted: "So Stormy says she and Trump had sex only once. I guess if you want the guy to screw you repeatedly, you have to be one of his voters.":pointer:popcorn-eatinggif:nohead::pointer:
