If "el cucuy" loses to Khabib Nurmagomedov he is fucked, he loses the golden ticket payday of facing Conor Mcgregor to be the undispited lightweight division Ultimate Fighting champion ."el cucuy" wants "el cucuy" to win, conor mcgregor wants "el cucuy" to win , he is the favorable matching for conor mcgregor. If Nurmagomedov wins; will conor mcgregor fight for the light weight division championship, or will he go after another belt.

What does the UFC want, they want to suck every cent they can out of Conor Mcgregor, but they cant tarnish their cash cow and I don't think conor mcgregor will take a fight with Nurmagomedov. Khabib’s grappling pedigree is certainly beyond all question at this point but with three of the very finest MMA grapplers at his disposal at AKA. Who is Conor Mcgregor going to bring in to his camp to prepare for Nurmagomedov.

Sports love the story line of the undefeated to sell a fights.

You notice how 5dimes will put out a Ferg/McGreg line... but won't post a Nurdv/McGreg line?

I think Cucuy will be fine either way. He's a top 3 fighter any way you slice it, no? Personality-wise he is hard to watch, but in the Octagon he is beautiful -- no homo. Like an artist.

The lightweight division is a two horse race , I'm counting out Tony Ferguson because of his age 34 . Conner and Khabib are both 29. Tony Ferguson has lost the stand up battle in 2 out or 3 of his last two fights. I had to google Lando Vannata when Ferguson faught him. Tony Ferguson has been putting up videos of him kicking pipes, I didn't see his kicks affecting Rafael dos Anjos at all, and they were landing, just Tony Ferguson long jab was doing any damage and only due to his height and reach advantage, Keven Lee was winning the fight on the feet and on the mat until he was caught in a triangle.

There are a ton of fighters id like to see Ferguson face, Alverez, Poririer who i think is going to outclass Gaethje, the winner of the Iaquinta vs Felder fight, and a few wildcard fighters on the rise , Alexander Hernandez and James Vick and Islam Makhachev who is only 26 years old and is sambo combat world campion fiving out of AKA . if Ferguson wins all of thouse fights he gets back to being a contender.

I was thinking about how there is no line for Nurmagomedov vs Conner, it would be a mega fight for the ufc to sell on New Years. Unbeaten fighter who called out Conner first at the weight in, and conner backed down, they had to retrain Nurmagomedov, and then and called him a chicken after a brutal destruction of Michael Johnson by submission ,who has never lost a round in the octagon .. the same night conner defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the UFC's first simulatenous champion in two divisions.

Nurmagomedov needs a bloody beat down on Ferguson to fight conner and get the fight he has earned.

Good stuff.

As far as earning this or that.... the UFC is way past that. It is a popularity contest, basically. Nurm could win and still not get the fight. McG may only fight for the mega dollars and I'm sure he could find more money in many other fights other than Nurm.

But who knows?

I imagine Nurm will destroy him. I'd be impressed if they go the distance. Anyways, if you imagine a winning scenario for Ferg, how does he do it? KO or TKO? Nope. Sub? Nope. Only see him winning by decision... but a decision probably would go to whoever would bring in the top dollar for McG fight. And if the financials say Nurm is a better draw, then Ferg is fucked.

Really, I think Ferg has to pull some magical shit to survive this. Then again, my picks are shit for MMA. No doubt.

I think Nurm/McG would be a huge, huge draw... but maybe I'm seeing that as a fan. Maybe a casual fan would rather see some circus guy vs. McG. Who knows?

One more week, htough. Can't wait

Only weakness in Khabib Nurmagomedov game and i don't know if it even exists any more was his stand-up in the first round vs Michael Johnson, he got tricked. Ferguson only chance is to hit fast , attack on the opening bell. Ferguson endurance may be super human, but you can only take so punches to the face on the gound, Nurmagomedov destroys Tony on the ground . I don't like Khabibs boxing style , it reminds me of the dutch kickboxing style I learned when i was Thai boxing in the 80s, but Khabibs pressured and walked down Edson Barboza' even with Barboza being the most complete fighter he has ever been and having the sickest switch kick in mma.

The bout with Edgar was rescheduled and was expected to take place on March 3, 2018 at UFC 222. On February 3, 2018, it was announced that Holloway had to pull out of the fight with Edgar due to a leg injury.

Holloway is expected to replace the injured Tony Ferguson and face Khabib Nurmagomedov for the undisputed UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 223 on April 7th, 2018. He will forever be known as a Legend for stepping in on 6 days notice.

Anyone see a line for Blessed/Khabib?

I think Khabib rolls him easier than people think. Tony has a much better ground game than Max and vs Khabib that is where the fight is likely going. Don't see a line yet though.

Also wanted to take Max -230 vs Ortega but now that fight is off, oh well.

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV

Khabib Nurmagomedov just opened at -425. I think Khabib Nurmagomedov is going to beat the breaks off Max Holloway, he has to be in it for the payday before Conner or Ortega takes hit tittle. I cant fathom the odds being so high, a fighter on a 12 fight win steak who holds the belt and has TKOed the last 3 opponents, and money is comming in on Khabib Nurmagomedov since I started to type this.

Max Holloway + 355 parlay with Villinova ML -320 "as a hedge". Looking for better odds and options to leverage Nurmagomedov, what a fucking mess

Maybe I'll be wrong but I think +355 is not nearly long enough odds to bet on Blessed in this spot. He's coming off an injury and fighting on 6 days notice against a guy that is going to be like 20 pounds heavier than him in the cage.

I'd give Barboza a better chance to beat Khabib than Holloway and he got killed. Ferguson was gonna be about +240 and I'd give him a wayyy better chance than Holloway as atleast he has elite ground game. Holloway has very little ground game and that is where the fight is going.

UFC should've tried to cancel Barboza/Lee and do Lee/Khabib. It would be a lot more competitive than what this is going to be.

Wow, what a shit show. Ferg out.

Those odds are out of this world. I wasn't following the Blessed injury previously.. What was it? How serious?

Not seeing a total for this fight anywhere.

Does anybody think Blessed will keep Nurm at bay with his incredible length? Keep it standing. If I could find a bet that Holloway goes over 2 round or over 3 rounds.... I'd take it in a heartbeat. (Granted it still pays even if Blessed wins.)

As long as they don't go to the floor I could see this being a decision... or even Blessed winning.

WagerType:pARLAY (2 TEAMS)
Date: Team:
Apr 02 CBB VILLANOVA -350
Apr 07 ZABIT MAGOMEDSHARIPOV -790 (KYLE BOCHNIAK vrs ZABIT MAGOMEDSHARIPOV)

Holloway suffered a leg injury in training and was unable to continue his camp forcing him to withdraw from his planned title defense against Edgar. It seem to me Holloway has a history or leg and foot injuries going back to his lose vs Conner, in a fight he looked lost and confused in, one of the most lopsided fights I have seen, The Notorious landed everything he threw. Holloway was only cleared 2 weeks ago for light sparing, crazy he is stepping in the octagon with a animal so soon who could snap that leg and keep him out for a year, now when Khabib Nurmagomedov beats Holloway it does not give conner any way to run from him if, Khabib Nurmagomedov will come after him.

Featherweight champion Max Holloway has been pulled from Saturday’s main event fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov after being deemed medically unfit to compete. MMA Fighting confirmed the news Friday morning during UFC 223’s official weigh-ins following an initial report by ESPN.

Conner step to the plate and fight the best 155 lber fighter on the planet outside of my Ex-girlfriend.

I had Khabib -400 ready to go. Really think Holloway was drawing very, very slim to win that fight. Like maybe 5% chance. Atleast someone like Barboza has KO power or Ortega has the ground game that could catch Khabib.

The way Max beats people is with his cardio and standup, and both would've been neutralized pretty quickly vs Khabib as he would get taken down fast. He doesn't have the KO power to end the fight before that happens.

Then you throw in the short camp and coming off an injury thing. He was clearly just taking the fight because it was a $ grab and it wouldn't hurt him at all if he lost to the champ in a higher weight class on short notice. Oh well.

What a joke. Personally think Iaquinta was gonna get KO’d by Felder this weekend anyways. Figured they might keep that fight and toss in Pettis, who gets destroyed by Khabib as well. Kinda like the Ortega idea, and he would definitely have a chance to land something slick on khabib on the ground, and is the only one mentioned IMO that does. Oh well, short of a miracle of every fight being a fight of the year candidate on the card (ain’t happening),this weekend is a disaster anyways...
