Tension reportedly remains after meeting between Bill Belichick, Tom Brady

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft revealed earlier this week that he sat down for a meeting with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, and he implied that it had something to do with the faces of the franchise clearing the air. While the sit-down may have helped, it does not sound like it was a cure-all.

Greg Bedard of Boston Sports Journal reports that “things still aren’t completely settled” between Belichick, Brady and Kraft even after their meeting. Bedard noted that the hope is that the meeting was a step in the direction.

Given all that we know about the tension that exists between Brady’s trainer Alex Guerrero and the Patriots’ training staff, it’s possible that the issues will never be completely resolved. Brady’s TB12 Sports Therapy Center, which was co-founded by Guerrero, is located just outside Gillette Stadium. Players have reportedly been going there for treatment in increasing numbers, and there have been reports that they are being told to ignore instructions from the team’s training staff in favor of other workout and rehabilitation techniques.

In addition to the Guerrero drama, there have been strong indications that Brady and other Patriots players are unhappy with Belichick for benching Malcolm Butler in the Super Bowl. For evidence of that, look no further than the way Brady and some other veterans publicly supported Butler after the bitter loss.

No organization in sports has been better than the Patriots at limiting distractions and focusing on winning, and hardly anyone would be surprised if they did just that again in 2018. Even if Brady and Belichick don’t like each other as much as they once did, their goals are still very much aligned.

Brady is great no doubt, but several times last year he went down without being touched to avoid the hit. Remember Jim (Chris) Evert. I would hate to see him go out on a bad year.
Anyone think he would have retired if Pats won superbowl last year?

he / they came within seconds or fractions or inches of winning his / their sixth SB, I'm not worried

They'll be in the mix again next year, that's all a fan can hope for

As for the year after that, nobody knows, certainly not anyone around here. They will be human someday, that's a given, but not just yet (IMHO)

People in the know are scared to report the real cause of the riff ..

Brady and Kraft helped Belichik avoid controversy in Penn State / Sandusky scandel ( Belichik was trusted
camp instructor and advisor to linebacker coaches at summer camps, i will not elaborate)

Brady signed off on allowing his qb coach or OC leave to Penn State , Brady allowed only to support Belichik
to be a team player to avoid the scandel..

Belichik was indifferent in the media regarding the deflated balls.

Penn State though verbal arm twisting coerced the Patriots into giving them a staff member for
covering up what Belichik, allegedly, may or may have not, known or not knows, seen or not seen.

while allegedly, being a key Sandusky "advisor" at Penn State linebacker camps remains unsubstantiated.

Should "sex-abuse" and "thrust " be used in the same sentence?

They need each other... for probably one last year..And I'll be happy to see the drama end.. We can all respect both without hoping that continues...But one last call still works...

This kind of stuff never leaves the Patriots' locker room and their good players never leave to play elsewhere; the fact it's happening now tells me that Belichik is beginning to lose the team. I might have a sizable bet on under the win total.

It's over. The signs were all over the place last season.

New England won't win a playoff game next year. Somebody bump this for me next January. Thanks.

And what were those signs again?

13-3?
15-4?
1 seed?
AFC champs?
Lost in last minutes of the SB?

maybe that 12-7 record ATS ?

I'll be here in January. And as always, I'll take any action people want to risk on such predictions
