I didn't think he was coming back when he went down. Supposedly, this surgery was always going to need to happen and he told the Cavs that if they didn't deal him, he would get it this season and miss most of the year.

Both big free agent offseason pickups are now gone for the Cs, Heyward, and Irving. That's bad luck for the leprechaun.

Probably but they certainly left a window open by trading up for Fultz over drafting Jackson/Tatum

don't sell the C's short

Irving, Hayward, Brown and Tatum are as good a young nucleus as there is in the game. Throw in Smart too

I'll take Stevens over anybody, and the C's still own bodies and draft picks. I think they're winning some titles

i felt that way up until this week when fultz came back. the kid has serious ability to get past whoever is in front of him.

Yeah he looks good in the limited minutes, you can see why he was the #1 pick but a ball dominant, scoring point guard still not really the best fit for a team that already has two ball dominant franchise players.

Maybe it's just so much talent that it all works out but still probably would've been better to take 1 of those wings that can do a little bit of everything very well to build around Simmons/Embiid.

yeah C's are up there. Could still upgrade the roster with all the flexibility they have. And they don't have anyone important with nearly the injury risk that Embiid has.

C's are gonna be a steady force like Spurs-east, but if all is clicking right then Philly should have more upside with two generational talents.

East should definitely be more interesting than it has been in recent history.

As a Sixers fan, they sure are exciting to watch, but as you said it seems unlikely Embiid has a very long career. Any word on the infection for Irving? I know it was unlikely, but if it was osteomyelitis dating back to the original surgery, that’s likely a career ender. I believe they were running some cultures to determine the extent/severity of the infection, but I hadn’t heard if those results have been released yet.
