Advice to new bettors...

Lots of mistakes you can make in sports wagering that is for sure, but most old timers will tell you to flat bet, same amount every game....I know this yet I still make the same mistake sometimes and it seems to never fail where it costs me! Good luck to all.

Also... NEVER chase.... Never force yourself to wager on games you didnt intend to if you had a bad day wagering. Just call it a day, lick your wounds, have short memory, and focus on the next day.

Know how much you can afford to lose. Never bet more.

Never let your betting be more important than other social, and of course work, obligations.

every sport has WAVES... and those Waves NEVER last LONGER THAN 4 WEEKS EVER...

So... if you have been lucky enough to win for 2 or 3 weeks... Shut it THE fk down..

my advice is: Sportbetting is a most likely a losing battle, set a certain amount aside and only bet with that. If its not a losing battle for you, you'll be able to bet more as that amount grows, if not it was just your entertainment money lost.

The best thing to do is make +EV bets, don't make -EV bets.

So a unit rating system works best, otherwise your not going to get paid off for your best plays. If you don't feel like you have best plays and are just betting for fun then it doesn't really matter though.

Only play with people/companies that will pay you timely.
Never play with those that make you jump through hoops to get paid.
Never play with those that have multiple complaints of bad checks etc.

If absolutely nothing else about betting on sports.. Enjoy the event itself, plus your handicapping and NEVER bet amounts over your head.

My advice is DON'T gamble on sports period. Almost no one wins or if you do, you increase your wager and if you lose, you increase your wager. Flat bet sure, but then being good enough to win enough to cover the juice, again almost no one

the number one mistake is CREDIT gambling. can end up real bad. im only 30 and the last 14 years have been a nightmare.

Thats more for advanced bettors. So hard to get it right, since the difference in value is very small and often over compensated.
