The Blues have almost* nothing to play for.

They are one point behind Colorado and play them tomorrow in Colorado, last game of the season.

I do not know what the Blues are planning, whether they will rest players, or whatever, but they will not go 1000% into the corners and hit hard and go all out knowing they have to fly to Colorado after midnight tonight and play the rested Avalanche for the playoff spot, all or nothing. So if they lose tonight and win tomorrow in regulation, they are in the playoffs.

Sure the Blackhawks are disappointing but it is the last game of the year, at home.

Deep inside the depleted Blues are a mess, they just lost 4 in a row when it matters, know even if they make the playoffs they will get massacred by Nashville.

Blackhawks + 120, BIG. (put some more on Blackhawks - 1.5 as well)

(*there are some far fetched scenarios with ties and overtime and shootouts that could happen but if Blues lose straight up in regulation tomorrow night it does not matter if they win or tie tonight)

#1 goaltender Allen is not in goal for the Blues tonight , he’s on a plane to Colorado. It’s Hutton tonight. I’d go 3 units on Blackhawks, 1 unit on Blackhawks - 1.5, and 1/2 unit Blackhawks - 2.5.

Clarification:

Even if the Blues lose against Chicago tonight, they can still claim the wild-card berth by winning Saturday against Colorado. But by winning in regulation or overtime against Chicago, the Blues can also lose in overtime or a shootout in Colorado and still get in.

i wouldn't say STL have nothing to play for exactly becasue with a reg win tonight if the game vs Avs were to goto OT they hold the tiebreaker with 1 more ROW not saying i'm disagreeing entirely with the play but i don't think its accurate to say they have nothing to play for perhaps they are looking ahead could be said

Ha I said “almost nothing” to play for.

They sent their best goalie ahead for tomorrow nights game.

Sure if they win tonight all they need is a tie tomorrow.

IMO knucklehead players are thinking tomorrow’s game is “it”, all we need is to win tomorrow. They will not be bursting after loose pucks tonight, not offering their bodies, it’s all about tomorrow.

We we shall see!

Allen might be their most talented goalie but Hutton is the goalie leading the entire league in GAA. All of your points are figured into the line and yet still a -145 favorite in Vegas

Hutton got creamed last time out, 4 goals in partial appearance.
Blues choking, lost 4 in a row when they needed it.
Blues thin with key injuries and sold assets at trade deadline, not a team that’s in a positive mode.
Bettors look at record and that Blues are in the playoff hunt thus the -145.
Blackhawks are actually the more talented team, they’ll be loose and aggressive, last game of the year before home crowd.
Kane said today it’d be nice to hurt their playoff chances.
To me the key is Blues know tomorrow is THE game. Might even be Blackhawk blowout, 5-1, 6-1.

not here to needle after the game but put way too much stock into it not mattering for the blues with it still coming down the game vs the avs.. but the hawks literally have nothing to play for.. gluck on the next one if we were always right they wouldn't call it gambling it'd be winning right lol

Sorry gentlemen.
Blackhawks didn’t show up.
At all.
Of course I realized that was a possibility but a well placed hockey friend told me they would play hard.
Announcers said dozens of times that “tomorrow is the big game and the Blues need to get it right for the big game tomorrow night”.
Blackhawks all had their golf clubs with them, showered and already headed for Scottsdale. :hammerit
Blues are 15-3-2 on 2nd game of back to back this year by the way.
Again, apologies...!
