According to the "Great" ESPN network, only five SEC teams will win eight games during

Missouri 7.3
S. Carolina 7.2

Here we go again Clover, the annual "prognostication frenzy" by a "sports" organization that is desperately trying to regain some credibility.
First of all, one has to consider the source of all these so called news and forecasting initiatives. ESPN (Entertainment & SPorts Network) was founded in
in 1978 with a goal to bring live sporting event on TV to the average sports enthusiast......fair enough, most of us fans bought the concept.

Fast forward to 1984 when ABC bought-out ESPN and the slow "trickle' began where political correctness was inserted into what was supposed to be a sports network only.....no politics or ideological insertions allowed.

Some "food for thought" regarding the Southeastern Conference and politics and predictions: Take note that every State where SEC schools are located voted for Donald Trump, (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina. Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri & Texas). Could it be possible that these left leaning (that's putting it mildly) news organizations are "slightly prejudiced" toward these schools........We would hope not but this is 2018 and far too often we hear and see otherwise.

Sorry to insert a hint of politics into your thread Clover, I got a little carried away, but, damn, so much of the PC & political crap is now being shoved down the throats of what was once a pure domain where politics didn't matter.

no one cares about espn stat predictions they are notoriously bad. Maybe they should have predicted their own channels demise instead. SEC football will be strong long after espn bites the dust.

Good read Mack.

The only time I watch ESPN is for a ballgame. I can't stand the rest of their PC bullshit!

Only 6 teams in the SEC won over 7 games last year (bowl games included) so picking 5 isnt too far off

I'm leaning toward the under 9 on AU. Just don't see them winning more than that. Besides being significant dogs on the road to bama and Georgia, the Washington game won't be a given - especially with Malzahn's history of first game stinkers. A loss to Miss State (on the road), LSU or A&M wouldn't be a surprise either.

Kinda like the over 7 for Florida. Five losses look to be their max to me. They will be underdogs against Ga and FSU and have several toss-up games - LSU in Gainesville, Miss State in Starkville and Tenn in Knoxville. Their next most difficult game should be Mo, but with that game being late in the season and in Gainesville I expect Florida to win easily. Mullen may not have the QB needed to challenge the best in the SEC this year, but he shouldn't need one to win at least 7 games against this schedule.

If Joe Burrow from Ohio State transfers to UF I'll jump all over the O7......otherwise, I'd stay the hell away from it. I'm prediction 6-6 or 7-5. If UF wins 8 or more Mullen should be SEC COY! Butters left the cupboard bare in Gainesville. Gonna take a year or two to rebuild it...

Coach, you are one of my favorites here in the CFB Forum. You love the Gators but will give
this forum no BS as to how you feel about the team. My gang always respects your opinion
about what's going on with the football program.

Side bet just for the hell of it. I will bet you a case of your favorite beer that Florida wins eight
games this season (bowl game included). Coors Lite will do for me and will wait for you to confirm
this fine wager.

I'm hearing good vibes out of Gainesville with the way Mullins has approached this football team.

Coach, I could be wrong - certainly would not be the first time. I see three very easy non-conference wins and Vandy. With your returning talent and schedule, can't see you not winning at least 3 more.

Is there a QB in Gainesville that I don't know about? Franks is uncoachable and Trask is a 2-star that wasn't even a starter in HS (true story). He was committed to Houston Baptist before he "flipped" to good ole recruiting machine Jim McElwain. Emory Jones has talent, but he's a true freshman and he's running 3rd string. To make matters worse....UF returns 5 starting OLs and they all stink. Franks and Trask are pocket QBs. The best WRs on the roster are ineligible (both transfers trying to get eligibility) - if they gain eligibility I have more hope for the offense, but someone has to throw the ball and - again - Franks and Trask are mediocre (at best).

Like I said, if Joe Burrow transfers in I'd say UF could win 8 to 10 games.

If UF is to win 8 games that means they lose 4 games. I have UGA, at Miss State and at FSU as sure losses. Toss ups are: Kentucky, at Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, Missouri. They have to go 4-1 vs. those 5 to win 8 games....w/ Franks or Trask behind center? Yeah, I'll stay away from the O7.
