Kevin Lee - 140

This is a changing of the guard fight to me, Kevin Lee was beating el cucuy when he got caught in a triangle. His only loses have been to top 5 real deal competition who have wars in the octagon, Edson Barboza has way less recent quality wins like Evan Dunham what a pile of crap, cant wait till he fights again.

Lee has good boxing, speed, agility, good wrestling (was 37-0) and i think is still improving . Lee will be the better rested fighter , Barboza is comming off a beat down from Khabib Nurmagomedov. “Motown Phenom” captured five-straight victories at the lightweight level, including finishes of Michael Chiesa, Francisco Trinaldo, and Jake Matthews. Barboza, 32 got the Nurmagomedov fight on reputation because the el cucuy fight timing was off, and notorious was AWOL, Barboza is starting to fade with the new level of competition. Lee went the distance with Al Iaquinta and Barboza power is over rated, he is a volume striker who lands a ton of shots, but does not have a ko with his hands since 2013. Lees Striking is under rated because of his has eight victories by submission

I haven't really researched that yet but I like Lee at first glance as well. He had a staph infection vs Ferguson and it was still a competitive fight, dominated Chiesa who is no pushover. Think UFC sees star power in Lee and gave him a winnable fight as well.

He doesn't have good boxing though. His boxing is a step above Khabib's, that's about it. I mean if he stands with Barboza he's probably gonna get hurt bad.

Yep. Kevin Lee is definitely a dominant wrestler.Striking is not really his forte though as he occasionally suffers from usual mistakes.

Justin Willis -300

This is just a wager opposed to Chase Sherman who's last fight i missed, Justin Willis mechanics are quite good and his take down trips are upper level . Justin Willis just does everything better and will pressure Sherman everyplace in the cage. Willis also fights out of American Kickboxing Academy and has seen higher level training partners.

Lee misses weight

Guess there isn't much incentive to come in at 155 when Romero is getting a title shot for missing weight

Lee dominates, easy win besides that 3rd rd scare

If I'm Lee, I definitely call Khabib out right here. They're not gonna schedule Khabib/Ferguson for a 5th time and who knows what McGregor is doing these days. I doubt Khabib takes it since he said he doesn't want to fight again until Nov. but who cares, insult the hell out of Russia and just call him a bitch a bunch of times.

Lee/Piorier next would make sense

Another dumb fighter... He had him wobbling every which way to Sunday.... and then let's Lee take him down.

I'm not a huge McGregor fan, but he's lightyears smarter than a lot of these guys. He would've calmly and cooly blasted a few shots at distance to Lee's head while he couldn't even get his balance and had his head sticking out like 65 mph fastball.

Nurmagomedov beats Lee in a very boring fight.. The fight they have to make is Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor , thats the fight Khabib wants. If we see a Lee vs Nurmagomedov, bye the time its over Tony "El Cucuy" Ferguson will be back and he will insist on a fight with Nurmagomedov. I also think Nurmagomedov beats Tony "El Cucuy" Ferguson.

Lee's cardio would really be tested against Khabib's pressure. He probably gasses out with that physique at 155.

But atleast it is a fight that when it starts Khabib can't just ragdoll the guy and fight the same exact way he always fights against everyone else . So it is intriguing in that sense.

Thoughts on Covington/RDA? Covington looked like a weight class bigger at the press conf and he is a smothering wrestler.

I think Nurmagomedov does ragdolls him, Keven Lee is a step down from Al Iaquinta. Keven Lee lost to Tony Ferguson cause his only submission tool is the neck choke, if there was a prop bet Lee does not take Nurmagomedov back i would take it. Any fighter in the 155 is scare to death to leave the center of the octagon vs Nurmagomedov so where are Lees take downs going to come from. Kahbib has beaten better ground technicians like Arymarcel Santos. Nurmagomedov stand-up looked better to me then Lees Vs Barboza, he was walking thru everything Barboza thru and will overpower Lee. Neil Melanson can only teach Lee so much , but he is going to be smothered and i see a 29-28 fight.
