Hi all, will be in Toronto later this week and was curious about the Canadian sports parlay cards.

Are these something you have to visit a casino to play? I thought I heard that you could go into any convenience store and play these but perhaps I am incorrect on this. Would they maybe have them out at Woodbine racetrack?

I'm sure the odds are hideous but that probably won't stop me from trying a parlay or two should I come across them lol.

Any insight/advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you friend, that helps!

Been googling like crazy but all I was getting was sports betting sites expelling sports parlays in general. Probably the .ca makes the difference.

Welcome to TO.

Yes any convenience store you can play these awful parlay odds. I personally never play Proline.

Woodbine is near the airport but a half hour drive from downtown. They call it a casino but mainly slots, roulette, video blackjack, and you can play holdem but no dealer. It's video. Pretty wild games too.

Hope this helps.

Are you racing a horse at Woodbine, or just staying a nearby hotel?

Thanks! I've been checking out the public transportation options from downtown to woodbine and they seem pretty decent. Uber sounds like a solid backup.

The plan is Blue Jays baseball Thursday and/or Friday night and Woobine Saturday afternoon for the thoroughbreds. Any good suggestions on sports bars around the Rogers Centre?

Haven't been to the Rogers Centre since '92. Not even sure if was called the Rogers Centre back then

No, my wife is staying downtown for a conference and I'm tagging along. Have wanted to check out Woodbine since I saw the track on TV during the '96 Breeders Cup. Really looking forward to it!

Real Sports Bar and Grill not far from Rogers Centre, right by the ACC. Awesome place but tough to get in. Make reservations. The hold em games at Woodbine are great. You're playing against live players sitting at the table, but no dealer. Waaay more hands per hour and no tips! If you stay late at Woodbine and need a place to eat, go to Zet's, open 24 hours, good chicken souvlaki reasonably priced.

Also if you are going to play proline, make sure your payout doesn't exceed 299 dollars or you may have to go downtown to the OLG office to pick up the check! I haven't played proline in over 20 years, back when they actually had good odds. And back then you'd have to go to the OLG office to pick up any winnings over 299 dollars. So play multiple tickets to ensure the payout is less than 300, and you will be able to collect your winnings at Woodbine or any store that sells/offers proline.

That's good to know. I'm guessing a $50 or $100 mandatory 3 team parlay might go over $300...unless the odds are really, really bad lol. Surprised it's such a low amount.

So yesterday I asked my non-gambling Canadian friend who hails from the Calgary area if he thought I'd be able to get away with using American currency at Woodbine...he asked me if I thought he could use Canadian currency at Arlington Park. Lol. Woodbine is about the only place I'm thinking I might have to use cash...maybe the sports parlays too?

I looked up the Real Sports Bar and Grill and it looks pretty darn good. Definitely a stop.

Thanks for all of the useful info, folks. I will let you know how the trip went.

Woodbine did offer currency exchange, I don't know if they still do, but the exchange rate was horrible! You're better off just getting Canadian money at your local bank. With what happened yesterday, give yourself ample time to get to the Rogers Centre. Traffic is always bad during rush hour, and with the increased security it will only make it worse. Hope you enjoy your stay in TO!

That's screwed up what happened in Toronto. Very sorry to hear it. Don't know what those idiots think they are proving...

So I have arrived in the beautiful city of Toronto and have played my first ever Canadian 3 team parlay. Here it is...

Tampa 1.95
Toronto 2.50
Milwaukee 2.20

$25 Canadian pays $268.30 Canadian.

Really easy to make the bet. Just walk up to any lottery counter and fill out the card.

Hope it’s this easy when the USA finally gets sports betting. With better odds of course and single game wagering.

Off to the Blue Jays game. Have a good evening.
