MLB Daily Survivor Rules
$20 per entry, 3 for $50. Contest begins Friday, May 4. Signups will be accepted until 12PMET.
You must pick one team to win every day. Once you pick a team, you will no longer be able to use that
team for the remainder of the contest.
If your pick loses, you will get one strike. Once you get three strikes, you are eliminated.
REBUYS
For the first week of the contest, losing entries will be allowed to “buyback” and eliminate one strike.
The buyback schedule is as follows:
After Day 1: $15
After Day 2: $20
After Day 3: $25
After Day 4: $30
After Day 5: $40
After Day 6: $50
After Day 7: $75
Starting May 11, there are no further buybacks and all eliminations will accrue strikes.
PICK DEADLINE
All picks are due daily at 8AMET. It is advised to get your picks in as early as possible, as you can always
change them prior to the deadline. Given this is a daily contest, there will be no reminder to get picks in.
An e-mail will follow with a spreadsheet of all that day’s picks. You must verify your picks for any errors.
If the error is my fault, I will correct it prior to the first game starting that day. Once the first game starts,
the SPREADSHEET BECOMES FINAL, and any errors that might exist will stand, regardless of who made
the error. If such an error results in your having a duplicate pick, that entry will then be eliminated from
the contest (a full 3 strikes). If you do not submit a pick, you will get “NO PICK” and receive a strike. Any
rebuy of a no pick will cost double.
RAINOUTS
In the event of the dreaded rainout, here is how it will be handled. The pick will be delayed until that
team’s next game, even if against a different opponent. While you won’t get the immediate strike, you
can still get it that team loses its next game. If the pick loses the makeup during the buyback period, you
can buyback at the latest buyback rate. The elimination will be retroactive to the day it happened. If
there are 6 picks left, 4 get eliminated, one wins and one is rained out, both the winner and the rained
out entry must make picks for the next day. However if the made up game is a loss, that sole winning
entry will be deemed the winner. The new picks will only be used if the made up game is a winner.
If at any point after May 11, there is a sole survivor after a day is over, that entry will be deemed the
winner of the contest. If all entries have one strike left and are eliminated in the same day, then the
contest continues to the next day with all those previous entries staying alive in the contest.
There can be a maximum of 30 days/picks in this contest. If multiple entries survive the entire schedule,
they will split the prize regardless of strikes remaining. Once the contest is narrowed down to minimal
entries, splits can be proposed. They will be accomodated for as long as the split/chop is a unanimous
vote.
No administration fees are taken out of the prize pool. 100% of the prize is distributed to the winner(s)
at the conclusion of the contest.
