Why the DBacks on Thursday at -125...The DBacks come into Thursday's game against the Dodgers after a Wednesday night 2-1 loss. With a win this afternoon, the snakes will take the series, giving them their 10th straight series win to open the 2018 season. In their last seven games, the DBacks are 5-2 where they averaged 4.4 RPG to match a .264 BA/.338 OBP. One of the reasons we will be backing Arizona tonight is due to their success against LHP. On the season, the snakes are 11-3 against LHP where they have averaged 4.6 RPG with a .239 BA/.307 OBP and 17 HRs. Patty Corbin will take the ball for Arizona who is coming off of a quality start against the Nationals on the road where he allowed 3 runs through 6 IP on 1 BB and 7 Ks. Looking deeper into that start against the Nats, Corbin posted a GB% of 56% compared to his season average of 54%. Corbin was very economical in that game, throwing just 85 pitches, which is a positive heading into this afternoon's affair. Looking into Corbin's four home starts on the season, he has posted a stunning .159 BABIP against to take his overall BABIP against to .222. Going back to Corbin's 2017 numbers, he enjoyed pitching during the day, where he saw his overall 4.92 era drop to 2.87 where he allowed just 5 HRs through 81 IP. The Dodgers come into this game after posting a 2-5 record in their last seven where they averaged 4.9 RPG to match a .248 BA. The Dodgers offensive output takes a hit against LHP where they average 3.1 RPG with a .211 BA/.297 OBP and just 6 HRs on the season. Alex Wood toes the slab for LA who is coming off of a loss IN San Fran where he allowed 4 runs through 6 IP on 6 hits. Wood has gradually seen his hard contact% rise in each of his starts which makes sense as his BABIP against is starting to creep up over his last three starts where he has posted .167/.263/.300 respectively to bring his overall BABIP against to .248. We will also be fading Wood due to his career numbers AT Chase Field. Over 27 IP, Wood has posted a 5.20 era where he allowed 35 hits on 22 Ks and 4 HRs. This DBacks lineup has a combined 152 ABs off of Wood to go with a .263 BA/.298 OBP and 9 HRs. Big time fade against the Dodgers bullpen tonight as they come in with a 4.81 road era and had to cover 23 outs on Wednesday night to protect a 2-1 win. Look for the DBacks to come out hot this afternoon where they are 8-0 following a loss.

If the D'Backs lose today..........since it's a 4 game series (and they've already won 2 of them)..........does this mean they "lose" the series even if they "split" the series?

my book states series bets are always calculated on the first 3 games-4th game is meaningless but dont know how that works at others

5dimes only counts the first 3 games in a 4 game series for series bets. Stupid if you ask me. However, it avoids ties.
