Did he really dangle Dez Bryant along until it was too late for Dez to search out a good deal or play for a division rival? I mean financially speaking Jerry had nothing to gain by delaying the whole process for so long right?

By the time he let Dez go most teams already picked up receivers spent their money etc Why do that unless it's out of spite? Or not wanting him to go to a division rival and come back and beat him? (Would've loved to see him play for the Giants with Beckham. I'm not a fan of Odell but would've been exciting to watch.

Dez missed out on valuable exploring options and negotiating time. I just don't understand it. This isn't business it's petty and not very classy.

That's it then. Long time Cowboys fan here but with Romo gone, Whitten and Dez gone that's it for me. I am not a fan of the new qb or anybody. Zeke is alright but not enough for me to remain a fan.

dangle dez along? dez said he wouldnt play for a discount and it was pretty obvious he was getting cut. he also was cut before the draft so that if a team wanted to address their wide receiver need before hand they could check into dez. he turned down baltimore's offer and of course he doesnt want him to go to a division rival, who would? jerry jones only cares about the cowboys....as he should. he owes nothing to dez bryant and he has been his own reason for having problems, cant blame that on jerry even though plenty of things can be blamed on him.

If he did it intentionally, and actually diminished Dez's ability to make a living, I concur it's a shithead move

But I'm not certain it was all planned, and I really think Dez will sign on with somebody and get paid

I hope so too. I'm a big fan. I think although he's lost a step he's still a force to be reckoned with. Despite all his drops last season he has great hands and just his pure level of competitive nature is an asset. How many times have we seen a player in various sports called washed up only to join another team and have a resurgence? I blame a lot of his drop off to Prescott. For whatever reason they just didn't have the chemistry. I've also seen Prescott miss a lot off open throws to Dez or simply not have the guts to attempt them. Throws that Romo made all the time with Dez.

I have to say you ARE NOT a big fan. Change out some players and you bail? That's not a real fan.

As was stated by somebody in this thread, everybody knew Dez would be cut so why not just cut him right away? That would be just business. Why wait so long?

ok your a fan right? how would you feel is jerry cut him and he walked right into the giants facility and was part of that team. you would say "we just cut dez and he goes to division rival and we get nothing".....thats why you dont just cut a guy and do him favors

Not to mention he has been paid a ton of money the last few years and has under-performed his contract. It's safe to say the Cowboys owed Dez nothing. Thats without mentioning his diva personality and attention whoring.

Why would any decent, normal person over the age of 16 be a fan of Dez Bryant? What redeeming traits are attractive here? I don't get it.

What kind of question is that? You obviously haven't watched many Cowboys games throughout his career. The guy can straight up ball. Also he's got a passion for the game that I like.

We like who we like. Can't help it. If you're a sports fan then you understand how that is.

Nah. Ive never been a fan of spoiled, primadonna athletes. Whether they played for the teams I root for or not.

Give me the Larry Fitzgeralds of the sports world. All class. And 3x the receiver Dez Bryant ever was.
