I remember "Nixon for president" signs in neighbors yards when I was about 6 yrs old. It was memorable in that people seemed to be very passionate about who they wanted for president. Nixon or McGovern. One of my neighbors last name was actually McGovern... and so... at 6 yrs old I wasn't hip to Nixon and all the people ripping on McGovern. I guess I took a side too. One particular neighbor was overly vocal about Nixon and so was their 8 yr old kid, who was my friend. It was all just very weird. Fast fwd 44 yrs (approx) .... and it is all still very weird

not sure what the first is but I remember Baby Jessica falling in the whole. actually I do recall Michael Jackson getting burned filming the Pepsi commercial. We only had rotary phones the yet somehow word spread faster than you can believe!

I vividly remember the Bush vs Dukakis presidential campaign in 88.

Shortly after that I remember the 89 Blackhawks going deep in the playoffs in Roenick's rookie year.

Then Desert Storm.

Yeah, I remember our school almost shutdown. Lots of emotions going on that day and most of us didn't
have a clue what was going on.

A second is when Coach Bear Bryant died...unless you live in Alabama...you just won't understand.
