Why the Tigers on Monday at -115...The Tigers come into Monday's series opener against the Rangers after dropping Sundays game 4-2. The Tigers have won 3 out of their last 7 games where they have posted a .270 BA/.312 OBP during that stretch. The Tigers see their offensive numbers make a drastic rise against LHP on the season where they average 6.4 RPG with a .316 BA/.363. The Tigers turn to Michael Fulmer to get them off to a winning start to the series. Fulmer has been stellar of late posting a 1.89 era over his last 19 IP where he allowed 18 hits on 1 HR, 4 BBs and 18 Ks. In those three starts combined, Fulmer posted an average hard contact% of 20% compared to his season average of 30%. Being that Fulmer posted a BABIP against of .323 in those combined three starts, this looks to be a great spot to back him against a below average offensive team who he is not exposed to which will ultimately lower his BABIP against back under .300. The Rangers come into this game after losing their last three to the Red Sox. With a 2-5 record over their last seven games, the Rangers posted a .233 BA/.279 OBP. The Rangers turn to Matt Moore to stop the skidding who is not trending well after posting a 7.31 era over his last 16 IP where he allowed 23 hits on 3 HRs, 6 BBs and 9 Ks. Moore's numbers aren't much better at home where he has posted a 7.79 over 17 IP where he has allowed 26 hits on 9 BBs, 11 Ks and an abysmal .393 BABIP against. With Moore posting a 55% hard contact% in his last start and his lack of success at home against an offense that hits LHP, we will fade Moore in this spot.
