Maia was tabbed as an injury replacement (filling in for Santiago Ponzinibbio) and is expected to face Kamaru Usman on May 19, 2018 at UFC Fight Night 129
Kamaru Usman has not been really challenged in the octagon yet, his best wins have been over Warlley Alves and Sean Strickland the former King of the Cage Middleweight Champion.

Demian Maia comes from the finest jiu-jitsu linage and holds a 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu , he has been KO once in his career, and has dropped his last 2 fights to Colby Covington who dominated the fight and Woodly. Kamaru Usman does not have Covingtons NCAA tournament but is physically made for this sport. Tyron Woodley vs Demian Maia was one of the most boring fight , Demian Maia was not able to take down Tyron Woodley the entire fight. Kamaru Usman is big and physical enough but is eh technical and experienced enough to stop the take downs. Demian Maia spent most of the fight vs Covington trying to exchange with him..Kamaru Usman will brutalize Maia on the feet.

Tyron Woodley is going to a busy fighter; He has the winner of the darren till vs stephen thompson, Kamaru Usman vs Demian Maia, Rafael Dos Anjos Vs Colby Covington fighting for the interim UFC welterweight title. Rafael dos Anjos and Demian Maia, best days are behind them and Colby Covington just is not good enough to beat Woodley unless his surgery is not successful , stephen thompson and Demian Maia are specialist and Woodley has their number already. The only real fights are Tyron Woodley vs darren till or Kamaru Usman or Santiago Ponzinibbio.

I cant really see Kamaru Usman losing to Demian Maia but a 4/1 favorite is just too steep.

Champion : Tyron Woodley
1 Stephen Thompson
2 Rafael Dos Anjos
3 Colby Covington
4 Robbie Lawler
5 Demian Maia
6 Jorge Masvidal
7 Kamaru Usman
8 Darren Till
9 Neil Magny
10 Santiago Ponzinibbio
11 Donald Cerrone
12 Gunnar Nelson
13 Alex Oliveira
14 Leon Edwards
15 Dong Hyun Kim

FELIPE SILVA -305

Not a huge write up on this one.. Two fighters are at different levels. Felipe Silva is a savage, he lost to Mairbek Taisumovwho who is part of the new wave of Russian fighters with deep experience and are cut from stone, but has a impressive win over Shane Campbell. Claudio Puelles just has no quality wins. An injury has forced Claudio Puelles out of his Lightweight fight against Sage Northcutt on July 29, 2017 almost a year ago. His last fight was Nov / 05 / 2016.

Silva, is 33-year-old and will have the physical advantage and the experience advantage over the 22 year old and will probably test the ring rust on Puelles and pressure in the first round with brutal kicks.

DIEGO RIVAS -170 (GUIDO CANNETTI vrs DIEGO RIVAS)

Diego Rivas is a Chilean fighter who is going to have a massive advantage 5 ft 9 in vs 5 ft 6 in. Guido Cannetti is 38 years old, i have no clue why is is fighting , but I think he is being set up for the local fighter; this is the first time the UFC is outside of Brazil in SA. Both of Guido Cannetti losses have come by submission. Diego Rivas most impressive win have been a KO (flying knee) of Noad Lahat. His last opponent was a tuff fight with José Alberto Quiñónez. If this fight goes to the judges Diego Rivas has the edge by a mile .

fucking crazy

-750 > Maia?

Guy is not top 3 level caliber. He could easily fall into Maia's backpacking like Masvidal did and lose the fight.....

At +450 or better I'll happily take a backpacking long shot here.
