yes if they can't see the mark. The Hawkeye system isn't used on clay. The ump makes a call...one player disagrees. If the opposing player gives it to the player who is disagreeing then it is their point because there is no concrete evidence. The umpire is just pointing to a mark on the court.
Nishikori could have just shut his mouth and said nothing and let Novak rant and get emotional over a lost point. But he almost immediately said/admitted it was good. A lot of the top guys are all good friends honestly and this isn't the french open yet.
The example of Pliskova smashing her racket on the umpires chair the other day.... that happened because Pliskova hit a shot( that was good) and the ump said it was out. It was match point for her opponent. Her opponent said nothing. And it was match over. Pliskova gets pissed off yells at the umpire and smashed her racket on the umpires chair. All while her opponent doesn't say a word. You can leave it in the umpires hands or take it out, all up to the opponent.
