Is Gastelum a paradox in this division?

Let me know if this sounds crazy.

In this division he has a better shot at winning the title than at 170. At 170 he wouldn't be knocking out people left and right. He has great defense so they aren't able to take him to the ground, and if he ever gets there... they can't get a grasp on him. Crocodile had full mount on him and he couldn't do shit. Then when these bigger guys can't use the size advantage to ground him, they come out in the 2nd and later rounds just fully gassed.

Although Gastelum is fat and unprofessional (let's be honest) he has a small guy fat guy gas tank, whereas a big guy large guy gas tank will get depleted... Gastelum is built such that he won't ever really tire. Even though he is fat and unprofessional.

His next fight will be Romero or the champ. Romero gasses pretty hard and in a five round fight I think eventually Gastelum would get to him. In the other matchup it would be straight popping and two guys just bombing each other in the stand up.

Would really like to see Gastelum and Rockhold matchup eventually... see if that Rockhold ground game could be the first to get Gastelum.

Amazingly, after Gastelum has proved himself, he looks like he has 10x more chances in this weight class. I mean, I don't see him doing half as well vs Woodley, Wonderboy, Covington, Dos Anjos, etc, etc. Actually, would really love to see Gastelum fight some of those again.

With Kennedy and Crocodile they both gassed themselves out... and then they started eating head shots. Both were totally overconfident and they paid the price.

Weidman played it smart and didn't fall into the gas out trap. This is why I think a Rockhold fight would be interesting b/c Rockhold won't tire himself out... but at the same time, it would be interesting to see if Gastelum could bomb Rockhold. Rockhold size and reach would be such that I don't if Gas could do it..

Gastelum has earned a title shot .. Antônio Carlos Júnior and Paulo Costa are the only fresh blood, but they are 2 or 3 fights away from a championship opportunity. Other then Yoel Romero; That division is cluster fuck right now.
It would make a great card to see McGregor return and Gastelum vs Whittaker as the co-mane event. I know Gastelum has been a cash cow, but would max bet on Whittaker, that is a horrible match-up for Kelvin Gastelum.
