He's a Russian, 2nd best player in the league to only Crosby IMO. Guy never really brags, very humble, and does a lot off the ice too. He's been in the league a long time with out a ring, this is first chance at a cup. Vegas is my second favorite team so I'm rooting for them, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ovechkin finally get one after all these year.

The last thing I want to see is an expansion team, Vegas, win it all in their first year. Especially after reading more about how teams weren't allowed to protect many players during the expansion draft. Giving Vegas extra picks for the regular draft. The League stacked the deck for this team so they would be an instant success.
there isnt any truth to that. pretty much everyone in hockey is respectful for both the united states and canadian anthems. a tampa player protested the anthem last year, but aside from that it isnt much of a thing in the nhl.
huge caps fan and for years the team has been deemed chokers but it was never about ovechkin, his stats were always impressive. its great to see this team finally come through in the critical moments and win. in years past blowing a 2 game series lead happens often, we lose to pittsburgh, dont get past game 7.....you name it this team has broken those curses and a lot of that credit deserves to go to ovi. for years he took criticism that true hockey people understood wasnt always on his shoulders but he took it in stride. he is an amazing player and an all time great goal scorer.
They were talking about it here on local sports radio the other day and said he's been doing it at every Tampa home game

Ovechkin could have made a killing tax free to play in the KHL, but he came here instead, he loves Merica
