These guys just don't get it. They are the employees. The owners operate the business. The owners make the damn rules. You follow the rules or you pack your bags.

How is this so hard to understand? How?

I'm just going to make a prediction now. I bet a few of these NFL clowns do something stupid and Trump pounds them again and the NFL loses another $500 million as the ratings sag, attendance drops and more fans walk away from this Social Justice Warrior crap.

Just my thoughts.

The stupid Jets owner said he'd pay all the fines if his players want to kneel.

this moment reminds me of one the Greatest skits of alll time on SNL,,

when keeping it real, goes bad,,, lol

allen Iverson got him some of that uppity way when the NBA told everyone to please dress in a suit when traveling to away games, soooo if i remember correctly, that lasted a month,, and in that month where he normally got 10 fouls calle din his favor per game,,

it went to 1,,, lolol,,,

he wore a suit from that day forward, lolol,,, just gotta teach these guys a lesson,, thats all it is,,

Because like it or not pro athletes have far more power in the relationship than your typical employee. The dynamic is totally different. Owners can't just tell players to pack their bags, because NFL caliber players aren't just hanging out on every street corner.

The owner operates the business but there is no business without the players. It's not a McDonald's where there is an infinite supply of labor cogs to plug into the machine.

Because of this, they have more of a voice. You don't have to agree with anything they are saying (I don't), but it's undeniable.

Does this mean that Kaepernick is just not good enough to play? No, it does not. It means everyone is sick of his shit, so nobody will hire him because despite his skill set, he is too much of a distraction in the work place.

And he pretty much can't play. He seemed headed to stardom, but he was exposed prior to the kneeling. The terrible 49ers had given up on him at QB.

They might have more power then the owners , but the fans have more power then either one of them. It's there league , but as was the case last season , fans didn't like it. Fans ultimately will call the shots .

Sorry my friend, the inmates do not run the asylum (a classic :))

They owners can and do control things, just axe Kapernick. A business manages it's workplace, and the players can live their lives and do all the good they think they're doing (they're not helping their phony cause BTW) on their own time

The players will be long gone before the owners are, and they can and will be replaced

Your logic is all screwed up, that is all I can say.

Business owners call the shots. In mega million dollar companies as well as small mom and pop businesses. You never shit on half of your customers. Never. Ever.

Get one thing straight in your head. There is no business with out paying customers. It has nothing to do with what either you or I think about what the Social Justice Warriors are doing or saying.

They do have more of a voice and a larger platform. This isn't a good thing.

The NFL decline will continue this fall.

So simple, all the owners and coach's need to do is sit and suspend ANY player that takes a disgraceful knee duringthe National Anthem and the problem will be completely over by week 2.

No, it's not.

Paul Allen is never going to tell Russel Wilson in his prime to hit the road due to his viewpoints. It's never going to happen. Never. Ever

It is a more complex issue than you make it out to be. Owners were put in a tough spot. Do nothing and you alienate half your viewers, speak out against the protests and you have the other side mad at you. I think they just hoped if they let it go it would run out of momentum and die itself, and they would have no blood on their hands. They made that gamble and lost.

Of course they run the asylum to an extent. At least more than the night crew at Subway. Let's say they co-run the asylum.

Kaepernick is one person. If they have groups of players banded together owners are forced to acquiesce a little bit, especially because it's all out in the open these days where every black viewer and player is intently watching this transpire, ready to misinterpret any action taken. Doesn't help that ESPN is ready to scream racism from the highest mountaintop at any opportunity, thereby fanning the flames.

HC is right in that sports ownership and players has always been a shotgun marriage. You have a product that is entirely based on the talent on the field, everything else is ancillary so the dynamic is very unique. And there's been bad blood with the NFLPA and Goodell for years so that is why this issue has become so delicate for the NFL. A lot of players probably don't even care about kneeling, they just don't want Goodell/NFL owners telling them what to do. It's a delicate game of chicken.

That's why the NBA has largely avoided this issue, because Silver has a better relationship with the players association and all parties realized a MAD scenario wouldn't be good for everyone.

I think the NBA leadership including coaches and owners, are in a position where they have to appear to be in lockstep with the goofy ideas of the high priced high school graduates. I have no doubt that behind closed doors they are envious of the NFL owners who have the ability to be the boss, run the team and even if the over rated Russell Wilson or mediocre Doug Baldwin go out, can slot in some other guy to collect exactly the same $$ from TV contracts. The NBA has gotten so bad that we now even have to be subjected to the nonsense of current and former wives. In the NFL, they trade away the guy who nailed Wilson's wife.

Has there ever been a professional sports commissioner more despised than Goodell?

It is the off season, they are free to protest, hold rallys, and make an effort for improvements in the communities. What is stopping them from doing something now?
