"...'incompetent and sloppy...." Yup, that sounds spot on.

  • President Donald Trump own White House aides think his legal team is doing an "incompetent and sloppy" job, according to Axios.
  • Trump brought in former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as his lawyer defending him in the case, but Giuliani has been linked to a string of bizarre gaffes across multiple news channels.
  • Contradicting Trump's constant "no collusion" cries, he now appears to be staffing up for a major legal battle with new legal hires.

President Donald Trump has been pushing back on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe into his election campaign for more than a year now, but members of his own White House reportedly think his legal team is doing an "incompetent and sloppy" job.
Trump recently brought in former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as his lawyer defending him in the case, but Giuliani has been linked to a string of bizarre gaffes across multiple news channels.
Before that, his personal lawyer Michael Cohen came under FBI investigation. Another Trump lawyer, Ty Cobb, fell victim to email pranksters while on the case.
Trump's "aides have no idea what Rudy Giuliani is going to say next," news website Axios' Jonathan Swan reports. "Several have told me they think his legal team has been incompetent and sloppy."

"They assume Trump and Rudy are coordinating behind the scenes. But staff are doing whatever they can to be able to honestly say: 'I know nothing,'" reported Swan.
Most recently, Giuliani and Trump have taken to arguing that the president can't be guilty of obstruction of justice, and even if they could, then Trump can pardon himself.
For a team trying to establish Trump's innocence, insisting on his right to reverse any convictions seems counterintuitive. And contradicting Trump's constant "no collusion" cries, he now appears to be staffing up for a major legal battle with new legal hires.
