It's been a day of bombshell reports and rumors coming out of New England. And this one takes the cake.

First, an unconfirmed report surfaced this morning the Patriots were working on a deal to trade Rob Gronkowski. Since then, it was suggested that New England had offers on the table from both the Titans and 49ers for one of the best tight ends ever to do it.

The latest stunner, though? Per reporter Adam Kurkjian, New England was on the verge of trading No. 87, but Tom Brady threatened to retire if a deal went through.

From multiple sources, here's what I have re: the Gronk rumors. Told Belichick wanted to trade him. Offers on the table w both the Titans and 49ers. He and Robert Kraft had a closed-door meeting to discuss. Tom Brady threatened to retire if the deal went through. Kraft nixed it.

Anyone else speechless?

As mentioned above, the Pats had been in talks with both Tennessee and San Francisco, a pair of teams who would love to add a weapon like Gronk to their offense.

Bill Belichick, per Kurkjian, wanted Gronk out of town, and had a meeting with owner Robert Kraft about it. But Brady got word of this and prepared to drop the hammer.

Gronk’s actions on the practice field this past week were... interesting. He legit screamed “woo!” after most catches. He’d high step after the other catches. He was trash talking. Oh, and he launched a ball into a tree on the sideline.

Seemed to me like he was free and happy.

Imagine a world in which both Brady and Gronk were no longer on the Pats. Yup, that's a dark and scary place.
For their part, of course, the New England PR shop has vehemently denied Kurkjian's report.

Statement from Pats PR head Stacey James: "I would say with the utmost confidence that none of that is true. None of it."

The Patriots are already reeling from the stunning news of Julian Edelman's suspension. Losing more playmakers would be the boiling point for fans everywhere. </twitterwidget>
For now, it doesn't look like any blockbuster trades will be going down. But that all could change very soon.
And if for some reason it does, TB12 will be absolutely livid.

If you're a great player in your last few years then you might as well flex your muscle on the team and make them try to win now as much as possible. Especially if you are taking team-friendly deals so that the team can have a better chance at competing.

What does Brady care how the Pats are setup from 2020 and onward?

Didn't Belichick already retire?

I thought the final straw was when Kraft made him trade Jimmy G?

I could be wrong, hard for me to keep up with "As the Patriot World Turns", second only to "From Russia with Love".

Anything is possible, but I think Kurkjian is just trying to make a name for himself - hoping to be the new Adam Schefter. I don't see any of the regular Patriots beat reporters or the supposed NFL insiders backing this up.

Pudge is a thoughtful kid .. I haven't seen him since this latest attempted murder .. when he was doing time for manslaughter previously we had correspondence.. he's got a story to tell .. he couldnt shake the demons off enough to get out of the area and get to a place where the
Kraft could mute his channel to put his side of the story out

Dennis why not do the world a favor and kill yourself. Obviously he has issues and instead of throwing him in prison how about get him some help. Imagine if you where a kid about to go to a school as a star athlete and some predator molested you and no one did shit and when you tried the courts said Oh sorry to late, sorry when you where a child and some piece of trash took everything from you but Oh well to bad your to late but hey Dennis Cathy Buckley says your an animal... Dennis Go drown yourself you disgusting human

Belichik was a trusted advisor at the camp that Sandusky made pudge play " naked leapfrog" in the locker room..

which was a gateway to something else.. imagine if when one guy was trying to leapfrog the other naked
the margin for "error" is slim.. pudge can explain

Pats fan is in Boston and neutral and classy enough that Ian Rappinport after researching him will listen to what he has to say ..

let pats fan meet with Pudge the report back to us if he thinks this is legit or not and if worth bringing rapport into this

In 2002, Spinelli pleaded guilty to manslaughter and several related charges for the beating death of a 48-year-old Fitchburg man.
According to prosecutors, the victim had engaged in prostitution activities with Spinelli's then-girlfriend. The two began arguing and the confrontation became physical with Spinelli striking the victim in the head and face, causing his death.
Spinelli was sentenced to 8-10 years in prison in December 2002, as well as five years of probation following his release.
