Why the Rays on Saturday at -140...the Rays come in as losers of their last eight games where they have posted just 2.5 RPG to match a low .200's BA and a mid .250 OBP. The Rays turn to their Ace and Cy Young candidate Blake Snell to stop the skidding on Saturday. Snell has been nothing short of spectacular of late posting a 0.00 era in his L3 Starts against the Mariners, A's and Red Sox. In that 17 IP span, Snell allowed just 7 hits on 27 Ks and 4 BBs. In Snell's most recent start, which came against the Mariners, he saw a jump in velocity above SA with all four pitches, with a 2 mph bump in his SLv from his PS. With very little exposure (41 ABs) against this Mariners lineup and a combined .122 BA/0 HRs, we will back Snell in this home start where he brings a .86 era to match a 3-1 record. King Felix will take the ball for Seattle who has posted a 4.74 era over his last 19 IP on 16 hits, 13 Ks and 4 BBs. With a 7.03 road era, King Felix will look to duplicate his 8 inning gem from his last start, which came at home, against the Rays. In Felix's LS against the Rays, he experienced a drop in velocity below SA with all four pitches, including a 2 mph drop with his CBv from his PS. In 36 IP during the day this season, King has posted a 5.75 era where he allowed 7 HRs through 36 IP. With consistent sub-par daytime numbers from 2017, we will fade King against a Rays lineup with a combined 72 ABs and 4 HRs. Public money not liking Tampa Bay today as the Rays are taking just 33% of the action with line movement from -130 to -140.
