It was largely thought that one way Justify could have a problem is if he got in a speed battle and was pressured early by the #9 Noble Indy. Meanwhile, in addition to Justify, Bob Baffert is also the trainer of the #5 Restoring Hope. I believe jockey Florent Geroux had one assignment. Go early, drift a little wide, giving Justify plenty of room, and keep the Noble Indy from getting near Justify. He performed that task to perfection.

No different than sending out a rabbit ..... Pletcher punch, Baffert counter-punch.
IMHO, each pair should have been coupled, like the old days.
