Field easily for me.

Houston is right there. Boston gets 2 studs back. And lbj could go anywhere

Easier question to answer in a month than now. Offseason will bring clarity.

Next year will be the Warriors 5th year of this run though. That's a lot of wear and tear on the body playing 100 game season after 100 game season. They had a lot of injuries this year.

One thing that could be a positive for them is that very few teams are going to have cap room this summer so a few veterans could be enticed to take less $ to play for them and thus they could upgrade/retool their bench.

This, a lot of teams are going to catch up in both the West and East. Also Curry is kind of fragile, andwho knows what other injuries could happen. Durant could break another bone in hisfoot or whatever. .

It will be interesting to see what transpires with James, but barring him going to Houston, GS should win easily again. The East is a wasteland and so far behind GS right now there is likely nothing one off-season is going to do to change that, unless key Warriors start dropping off with injuries. The best team in the East couldn’t win a single game in the series, maybe some people coming back from injuries and some off-season moves means next year’s series will be 4-1 or possibly 4-2 GS instead of a sweep.

Saying the best team in the East couldn't win a game is deceiving since the Celtics would've been the best team if healthy. Houston was giving GS all they could handle until CP died. If Kawhi Leonard didn't take the year off then SA likely gets the #2 seed and GS has to play @ SA in rd 2. None of those teams would be better than +200 to +300 against the Warriors but it is an accumulation that can eventually add up. 3 straight series against good teams without homecourt advantage is a lot to overcome.

They're a great team but they've had a lot of injury variance go their way and it's created an easier pathway for their championships. Some of that variance can easily begin to go the other way (and almost did this year)

I wouldn't bet the field because I'd just bet on teams in the field once I had a better idea who those teams were, but I will say that 4-5 yr range in modern times is around when fatigue starts to set in and the hunters become the hunted.

'03-04 Lakers off their 3peat had b2b losses to the Spurs and Pistons. Lost in 5 to the Pistons in a series that wasn't all that competitive. And if it wasn't for an injury to Sam Cassell in the previous rd, they may not have made the finals. (not to mention the Derek Fisher .4 seconds shot in rd 2 vs the Spurs)

'11 Lakers after going to 3 straight finals were swept by the Mavs in rd 2.

'14 Heat were crushed by the Spurs in the finals after going to the finals 3 previous years and winning twice.

None of those teams got the shot in the arm that the Warriors did by signing Durant in the middle of their run but the accumulation and battle of attrition that comes from deep run after deep run is a very real thing. Big reason that even the Spurs have never even come all that close to repeating.
