Thought it might be fun for everyone to make a June prediction for who will be the top 5 ranked teams on October 1st.. this will be after Week 5 of the season. Gotta consider the early season matchups and which way the media hype will lean too..

1. Bama- Will beat the brakes off of Louisville week 1 Miss St will be a tough out but should get the W
2. Clemson- Should be able to handle business vs Jimbo and the Aggies week 2
3. Penn State- Will Upset Ohio State week 5 and move into top 3
4. Georgia- No true competition first 5 weeks... cruise to 5-0
5. Michigan- If they take care of biz at Notre Lame week1 they will be in the top 5

Who ya got???????

I like the Washington Pick... as I think they will be in top 5 in Nov. just was a bit hesitant with them facing auburn out the gate. Of course if they derail the the Gus bus then they have a great chance to be in that 3-5 range.

OK, CBBall...got some interest here and will pick up as the season nears.
Up to YOU to keep up with final results due 10/1. I will send the winner
two cases of beer ($50). One shot per poster.

Keyman has Ohio State in the top five and that team was hard for me to
leave off. I stand by my five.

Forum, who do you like for week five leaders...……………….

Sounds Good to me CloverLeaf! Lets say Deadline for entry is Aug 15th...and need a tie breaker? Maybe each needs to pick the top scoring team of their 5 and total points scored in those first 5 weeks. Doesn't matter if they play 4 or 5 games.. total points scored prior to Oct 1st.

My top 5:
1.Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Penn State
4. Georgia
5. Michigan

Tie Breaker: Clemson 178points

Interesting fact. Alabama and Clemson will have one opponent in common. Texas A&M, which hosts Clemson on 9/8 and goes to Alabama on 9/22. It is hard to believe that the ACC could be eliminated from the Final 4 race in week 2, but a Clemson loss to a middle-of-the-road A&M team, no matter who their coach is, would be a devastating blow to them and the ACC, especially if UDub defeats Auburn.

That is correct Clover (boy you are a smart one!!).

The 7 people on this thread all do not think that UCF will be voted in the top 5 by the AP sportswriters after the 5th week of the college football regular season.

However after 2 cupcake games to open the season they do play (all 3 in a row) North Carolina, FAU (i truly think they give Oklahoma a run for their money in week 1), and Pitt. Not powerhouses we know, but these are 2 teams that play in a power 5 conference and 1 respectable non P5 team. If UCF could find a way to go 5-0 (they should be the favorite in all 5 as long as they are undefeated) then they "could" possibly be a top 10 team due to their success from last season. We'll see

However, thank you again for bringing up UCF on this thread as you keep creating awareness on these threads. I think that is pretty awesome of you!!

Good luck to your crimson tide this season. I'm sure they'll be fine after their first 5 games playing a neutral field game against a WAY WORSE this season Louiville teams and home games against those powerhouse schools like Arkansas state and Lafayette!!

Oh, my top 5- Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Miami.

And if i win, as much as i love beer, you dont need to send. I dont need for you to know where i live :)

You had better listen to him Clover. After all, he graduated a school that is ranked 171st in the nation. A school that charges a whopping $6300 a year for tuition. This guy is so paranoid that he is actually afraid of you finding out where he lives. Like you are really going to use that information for some demonic reason. The fool does not even realize that just about anyone with a brain or the right connection can get his home address in about 15 minutes if they want it. Then again, maybe I am wrong. Maybe he actually did not graduate. Maybe he was kicked out of school because of poor grades. That certainly would seem to be a more logical explanation.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with a female and i know you are TRYING way to hard, but before you start bashing the academics at my alma mater (yes i did graduate), please keep in mind how your reading comprehension has been called out a few times in the past couple days due to your incorrect statements and you actually told me a game was already played which is actually scheduled to play 3 months from now.

BTW, its a college football forum, please lets talk about college football. Other ignorant stuff is for the rubber room. This season starts in less than 2 months. There are a lot of good posters who post. Its not a "bash room" like other forums. We've lost TOO many good posters/handicappers over the years due to stupid shit.

Again, no way in hell i'm getting into a pissing match with a female on a college football forum on an internet message board. This forum is for the football fans to talk football and give each other advice so we can all make some $$$ (hopefully)

What a coward. You cannot admit to the truth about your alma mater, so you try to change the subject because you are afraid that a woman is going to make you look like a fool. Well at least we all know the truth. Whether you realize it or not, you just admitted it. Since we are exchanging college pleasantries, just what IS your degree in? Mine is in Administration of Justice with minors in Political Science and History.

The group of 5 representative to the New Years Six Bowl could well be decided on 9/15 when UCF plays at North Carolina and Boise State plays at Oklahoma State. Obviously Oklahoma State is a much better team than UNC is, so if UFC wants to be in consideration for another trip to Atlanta, they had better hope that they can defeat UNC convincingly while Boise State is losing to Okie State. If they get past that hurdle, UCF will host Florida Atlantic, who will have one loss (that to Oklahoma) the following week.
