Ronda Rousey is quickly finding her niche in pro wrestling.

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey had quite the weekend in a WWE ring. The former fighter turned pro wrestler had her first singles match on Sunday at Money in The Bank, challenging Nia Jax. She didn’t come out on top there, through no fault of her own, but she got her revenge the next night.

At the PPV, Rousey competed in a realistic-looking match against a woman almost twice her size in Jax, using her MMA experience to attempt submissions and fight her way out of the grasp of the Raw women’s champion. At a point where it looked like she had an advantage, superstar Alexa Bliss entered the fray. Using the Money in the Bank briefcase she won just a couple of hours before that, Bliss clubbed Rousey to knock her out of the ring and finished off the champ, taking the belt home in the process.

Needless to say, Rousey was pissed.

In the opening segment of Raw the next night, Bliss berated Rousey and the crowd on the mic, playing up the fact that she outsmarted everyone. Rousey came <g class="gr_ gr_25 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="25" id="25" style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-size: 13px;">out,</g> but was held back by Raw GM (and wrestling Olympic gold medalist) Kurt Angle. Until Bliss went too far, that is. Rousey attacked with the MITB briefcase, and Angle tried to hold her back. So she beat the holy hell out of Angle with it too. Four referees jumped in the ring...and they got dusted as well. Check the video:

Due to her actions, Angle had no choice but to “suspend” her for 30 days. Which probably means she’s going to film a movie or something. But regardless, her match was high-quality, the Raw segment was one of the best of 2018 involving anyone, and there’s only one conclusion to draw - Ronda Rousey is really good at pro wrestling.

I always thought they pulled punches in pro wrestling until I saw this......now I KNOW. Well, I've known for decades, but it is still a guilty pleasure, but one that I only watch once or twice a year now.

i think rousey is loving life. shes in the public eye on a weekly basis, you know the wwe is going to put her in a movie as the lead rather action or horror, and her merchandise sales are up too.

Cartoons. Can’t believe people watch this.

Yeah, unreal. A fake story about a fake fight and it is over fake scripted fighting. I guess that is whyshows like Oprah and those others are popular.

You can tell she is a true fan of wrestling as her demeanor shows how happy she is to be doing it. When doing UFC she did not show that same level of kid like enthusiasm and love for it. She is doing it for the right reasons unlike Brock who was always about the payday.

She probably loves it because winning scripted matches is a lot more fun than getting punched in the face by superior fighters.

She loves the money, who are you kidding?!?

I guess you’ve forgotten her lifelong love for judo, also her father and grandfather committing suicide. Dressing up in costume helps to hide that aspect of it. Plus like Pats said, pulled punches to the face hurt way less to you and your pocketbook than real ones...

No one stays on top forever. She had her dominate moments but can't stay in the UFC when you keep losing.

She has always been a big wrestling fan & I am telling you from the inside, she is not just in it for the money. She actually had the option to get the same big deal and work less dates but specifically asked to do more as she loves the business.
