2008 Philly only team with... Pitching Stat Opponents Batting Avg Ranking ... over 6 ...they were ranked # 12 .. Opposing Batting avg .260

In some of these years I noticed that all teams had a better than normal Team Batting Average ....therefore I'm using the ranking instead of the actual number for this next stat ....

Last 18 Years .. from 2000-2017 ... Teams which made the Playoffs

Not including Play-In Teams

There have been 40 Clubs out of the Possible 144 Spots ( 8 Playoff spots per year ) or 28 % ...that made the playoffs with a Team Batting Avg of .259 or below ... So that's a 72 % chance they miss the Playoffs all together ....

Of the 40 Clubs who had a Team Batting Avg of .259 or below who made the Playoffs only 7 Clubs ( 7/40 or 18 % ) had a Pitching Stat / Opponents Batting Avg Ranking outside the Top 10 .... So in summary ... 82 % of the 40 Clubs which had below a Team Batting Avg .259 but had the Pitching Stat ...Opponent Batting Avg Ranking in the Top 10 !!

There was 1 Team / 2008 Phillies who won the World Series with a Team Batting Avg of .255 and also had their Pitching Stat ( Opponents batting Avg Rank ) .... outside the Top 10 ...at # 12 Rank ....

So I know it's early guys but to get the best price on future bet's , now is the time to get the best odds ....imo

This Year's Contenders ...imo ...This Year is a strange year for Team Batting Averages as the only team above .259 is # 1 Ranked Houston at .267 !! Wow !!!

So we will use the Top 10 Theory in Opponents Batting Average with the rest of the Contenders to see their chances of making the Playoffs ?

Remember these numbers will change ....so beware

I will list the Contenders ...Pitching Stat ...Opponents Batting Average ....If outside the Top 10 Ranking they have an 82 % of missing the Playoffs ... remember these numbers change .... but so far ... we would eliminate these teams from reaching the 2018 Playoffs ...

# 11 Cleveland .... I feel they we will reach the Playoffs because of their weak division

# 12 St Louis

# 16 Seattle

#17 Minnesota

# 21 SF

# 26 Colorado



Many people will be on Seattle to reach the Playoffs in which they still may but percentages are at 18 % here ... Personally ...I have them reaching ...


All the rest of the Contenders are in the Top 10 in Opponents Batting Avg and have an 82 % chance of reaching Playoffs ...
