Anyone here ever live in NC?

Thinking of maybe retiring there in about a year or so.
Don't need a whole lot other than streaming box and safe place to live. Close to the beach would be cool but not really necessary. Seems like a nice year-round climate. Lived in Ohio all my life. Looks like Lebron is going to leave so it's time for me to go lol...only kidding about that part. Any info, insight appreciated...tia.

I never lived there but I have friends who moved from PA into the Charlotte area. They seem to like it for the most part.

Beautiful state, cool people. Raleigh-Durham is probably better than Charlotte but depends on what you are looking for.

Mountains are definitely better then the coast. Aside from right along the coastline stay away from anything east of I95. Asheville/Hendersonville areas are wonderful. Chapel Hill is also nice with a lot of things to do. However you will spend a good part of your time in search of parking.

i live on the outer banks. aside from tourism during the summer months its wonderful and even in the summer its not that bad except restaurants and traffic but you put up with it because they bring in so much money. the spring and fall are where its the best. great golf, surf and fishing. wont be leaving the coast anytime soon. i have lived here full time for 9 years but my parents bought back in 1979 and spent every summer of my childhood here. ashville and the mountains out west are beautiful but i am a beach person and think this is the best beach on the east coast.
