I voted for Hillary, not because I liked her more as a person or her ideology. I just felt like she could at least get the job done, and gave her the nod because of her governmental experience. I felt like she was a "safer" pick, if that makes any sense.
I believed Trump would struggle as a president, but I was open to him proving me wrong. I figured we would see an aggressive tax cut, de-regulations, etc. etc that would lead to GDP growth and a booming stock market. None of that surprised me.
What I didn't expect was how small businesses would be able to grow and do well in a Trump economy. That was my main worry--that Trump's policies, while they would lead to overall growth, would create disparity that favored greedy corporations and stiff small businesses.
I've seen enough now to know that I was wrong about that. I wasn't really considering him in 2016, but he's done enough for me to give him very strong consideration in 2020.
The nonsense, the weird "unpresidential" vernacular he has never bothered me. People way too big of a deal about that shit. I just wanted to see what he could accomplish, and he has surpassed my expectations.
