After Betall posted the 20/20 thread on road rage, I decided to see what I had taped and this episode on Ankle Bracelet Monitoring is really disturbing.
Guy about to go on trial for Armed Robbery, his bracelet had 106 alerts over a long period of time. There's period gaps where there was not enough staff to monitor the alerts overnight, unreal. Armed Robbery suspect's mom shows up to the victims home to offer money and asks to not testify against son. Victims were told suspect was behind bars. Suspect shows up before trial breaks in house decides and shoots all 3, 2 of them survive and testify in court eventually.
From faulty bracelets to easy to remove ones with some You Tube training, to not enough staff to monitor alerts to simply people with long criminal histories that should not be on this stupid system. I understand people can fall through gaps in the system but when there's multiple alerts and follow ups are not being made and whatever monitoring company cannot even have one person monitoring alerts at all times how do you put faith in any kind of system like that.
