Wearing an expensive watch has nothing to do with knowing what time it is......its all about looking good & status symbol, & some of these expensive watches actually look really good on your wrist.
im kind of in the same boat at drpugilist on this one. I like watches, but I would never spend more than a couple hundred on one max. Just couldn't see dropping 5k-10k on a watch unless I was a millionaire and just pissing away cash. I like Citizen Eco Drive watches and normally rotate 2-3 watches for work.

I've been looking for a Rolex Daytona, can't even find one unless I'm willing to pay $5000 above retail, which is what they are going for.
My Rolex Sub I got new in 2007 is worth more now that what I paid for it, my JLC is also worth more than what I paid for it 4 years ago. Could I get my money back, of course I can, if I wanted to sell it. I have an apple watch, citizen eco drive, Fendi, all worth under $500
