Considering living in Florida. A few questions:

1. Can you shoot alligators.... in self-defense? (And what about for hunting pleasure?)
2. Are they bulletproof? Or how many bullets to bust through that thick hide?

And to anyone who says "o/c they're not bulletproof"... Hey, fuck you, pal. I'm not an alligator-ologist.

About a month ago, An alligator ate a woman down in Davie, FL.

A buddy of mine had a video sent from someone on the scene and showed me the video of the alligator getting killed, getting opened up, and finding the lady's arm.

It was kinda gross and kinda cool at the same time.

Must've ate her tits and pussy first... then decided to swallow the arm whole.

Ive lived here for 29 years.

1. its a third degree felony to kill an alligator. I'm sure if its in self defense it would be fine, however.....
2. alligators are seriously no big deal. We see them all the fucking time and they never do shit. Mostly they jump in the water and swim away if you get even remotely close to them. It amazes me to this day when tourist come here and are blown away by alligators. I mean i guess i get it if you live in montana it probably is weird to them but if you live in florida you've seen 1000's of gators and like 2 times a year you hear about someone getting bite by one and its usually cause that person was being a dumb fuck.

The last golf course I ran we used to have scuba divers come out and dive for lost golf balls in the water and every lake on the course had a gator in it. Seriously, people think its a lot bigger deal then it is. Gators are scared shitless of humans basically 100% of the time.

Was on a little golf vacay down near Disneyworld. I see my brother at the edge of some bush and small trees on the far side of the teebox with his back towards us, obviously pissing. I decide that's a good idea and this is a good out of the way place to piss. I go join him. We're standing there, schlongs in hand, pissing away into a small downslope into a creek or something. About three feet away there's this surprise commotion. A damned gator (which we northerners had never seen and had no idea that they just lived in all wet areas) about 10 feet long took about four or five steps and plopped into the water. We musta been pissing on him and didn't even know it. Damn. I turned whiter than white. And my brother did too.

North meets south. South wins.

Back in my twenties (been awhile) I and three of my friends were on a fishing trip in Steinhatchee,
Florida. Back then, this place was a great fishing camp but nothing else. It had one bar and I use
the term lousily, block building with one pool table and booze for those who chose to fish there. One
night I was shooting pool with my partners and a local opened the door and threw in a 5-foot gator.
Scared the hell out of me. Damn Gator on the floor of this small bar area. You can laugh, scared me
so bad I wet my pants. Hell, I had never even seen a live gator before.

Other than that, we caught a ton of fish and it was one great experience I will never forget.

I used to go out and paint hazard lines around the golf course lakes and most of the time you'd come across at least a couple gators laying on the bank getting sun. I'm driving a golf cart and literally every single time the gator jumps in the water when you get maybe 50-100 foot from them. Only reason you sometimes hear of an attack at places like Disney is cause dumb ass northerns throw food to them like its a damn dog so at that point the gator isn't as afraid of humans anymore. In 99.999999% of cases the gator is far more scared of you then you are of it. I guess I get it cause people from the north just aren't used to seeing them. A lot of people don't even actually realize that they are just in the wild down here so I guess I can't expect they would know much about them. To me common sense should tell people hey, this is a wild animal, don't feed it and don't fuck with it and i'll be fine.
