If you don't have any information that will help RX'ers here win or lose
money....DON'T POST. Nobody Cares!

LSU: It's no secret the Tigers are relying heavily on players that were recruited elsewhere.
Three transfers figure to play pivotal roles in whether LSU enjoys another strong season
or slips to 6-6 or worse as some have projected. Quarterback Joe Burrow from Ohio State,
receiver Jonathan Giles and defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko of Texas Tech very well could
be the difference in success or failure for third year coach Ed Orgeron, who is feeling the heat
in Baton Rouge. If those transfers make a positive impact at positions of concern, LSU could
post at least nine victories for the 12th time in 15 seasons. If not, the Tigers could finish 5th
or worse in the SEC West. LSU is not a team lacking talent, however, they need a new starting
quarterback. There is no proven running back. No returning receiver had more than 14 catches
last season. Five new starters will appear on the defensive front seven. Obviously, the QB
position is the greatest concern. Who the hell mention Lane Kiffin....I certainly didn't.

LSU has clearly been one of the biggest disappointments in the SEC year after year. The only reason why they will not disappoint this season is because no one expects them to be competitive. A four game run that starts at Florida, and then finishes with three straight at home vs Georgia, Miss. State, and Alabama could lock up a 6-7 loss season for them. They have no offense at all. Their defense is very questionable. Unlike my friend, I do NOT think that LSU has a lot of talent. Certainly none on offense. If Orgeron wants job security, then LSU had better figure out a way to get 7-8 wins out of this season, something I believe that they cannot do.

Add on LSU. I think that bettors can make good money on selected LSU games. Fading LSU +1 @ Florida and LSU -3 vs Miss. State look like solid wagers to me. Alabama -14 and Georgia -10, both at LSU may be a few too many points to give. All of these lines are the current lines at the Westgate Superbook.

One game to watch with LSU is when they play a team before playing Alabama.
The Tigers usually have an open date before playing the Tide and have done well
in those games.

LSU is 6-0 ATS before playing Alabama.

North Carolina State: Losing eight starters on defense, especially one with four elite
defensive linemen the Wolfpack boasted last season, will be a challenge moving for-
ward. But coach Dave Doeren believes his depth despite losing defensive ends Bradley
Chubb and Kentavius Street and defensive tackles B.J. Hill and Justin Jones. Doeron
knows his defense will be a work in progress, but does have some players ready to
step into starting positions. Six starters return on offense led by quarterback Ryan Finley
who could be one of the best signal callers in the country this season. Finley completed
65 percent of his passes for 3,518 yards and 17 touchdowns last season and has caught
the eye of many NFL scouts. Leading receiver Kelvin Harmon (69 catches, 1,017 yards)
returns to complement Finley. Building on last year's 9-4 record will be a work in progress
but a winning record and bowl bid seems likely.

James Madison.....Georgia State.....West Virginia.....@Marshall.....Virginia.....Boston College
…..@Clemson.....@Syracuse.....Florida State.....Wake Forest.....@Louisville.....North Carolina

Sidenote: The host in the NC State/Wake Forest game is 10-1 against the spread.
(NCS host WF, Nov. 8)

Sidenote: North Carolina State is 12-0 against the spread as conference dogs with rest.
(Nov. 17 at Louisville, probable dog)

LSU is 6-0 ATS before playing Alabama.

Those 6 games were against Mississippi (X3), Furman, Western Kentucky, and A&M. This season they get Miss. State.

N.C. State has a huge advantage in that they always fly under the radar of Clemson and Florida State. Their passing game is going to have to come up BIG if they want to repeat last years 9-4 effort. The left side of the O-line looks solid. Point-Counter Point: The host is 10-1 in the NC State-Wake Forest game (at NC State). NC State is 1-5 after the Florida State game (Wake Forest). NC State is also 12-0 as a conference dog with rest. (@Clemson on 10/20. Off 10/13)

Thanks Pooh, we appreciate your input. Here's a school you should know well.

UCLA: The Bruins have a new head coach and two new coordinators who will welcome back
five starters on offense and seven starters on defense. How many of the previous starters
from 2017 that will earn first team status this season is questionable. The offense needs a
complete overhaul and the defense was terrible last year finishing near the bottom of the
country (121st) in total defense. The defense allow opponents to score in the red zone 80
percent of the time. Jerry Azzinaro has been put in charge and has switched to a 3-4 scheme.
On offense, the quarterback position is up in the air and likely won't be determined until pre-
season camp. Sophomore Devon Modster and Michigan transfer Wilton Speigth have the most
experience, but freshman Dorian Thompson-Robinson fits more with former Chip Kelly type
quarterbacks. Kelly will also have to find three or four new starters on the offensive line. Find-
ing a new quarterback to run his system and developing some semblance of a running game
will test Kelly's offensive skills. With a defense that couldn't stop anybody last year, he certainly
has his work cut out for him. Getting a bowl bid could prove difficult.

Cincinnati.....@Oklahoma.....Fresno State.....@Colorado.....Washington.....@California.....
Arizona.....Utah.....@Oregon.....@Arizona State.....Southern Cal.....Stanford

Sidenote: UCLA hasn't won a football conference champion in more than 20 years. To
make matters worse, cross town rival USC has won eight league titles during the same
stretch.

Sidenote: UCLA is just 1-10 against the spread before playing Arizona. (Cal, Oct. 13)

Today's Amazing Stat:

Oklahoma State is 19-3 against the spread before playing Texas Tech their last 22 games.
Hosting Boise State September 15th fits the situation this season.

UCLA fans are just hoping for a 6-6 season and for Kelly to show some progress with this team. It looks like their will be a duel for the QB position between So. Modster and Fr. Thompson-Robinson. I expect to see Robinson starting by the end of the season. UCLA has always had problems developing a winning attitude. They could well start the season at 2-2 and then have to play a killer 5 game in 5 week run, including Washington, @Cal, Arizona, Utah and @Oregon. Two wins would be a good accomplishment. After a trip to Arizona State in November, they finish at home against USC and Stanford. This is why UCLA fans are hoping for 6-6. 5-7 is certainly more realistic and 4-8 is not out of picture.

Kentucky: Has coach Mark Stoops (26-36) reached his ceiling with the Wildcats? It is a familiar
spot for Kentucky coaches. After experiencing losing records in his first three seasons with the
Wildcats, Stoops has posted identical marks the last two years, 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the SEC.
It has been eleven seasons since Kentucky won more than seven games. Kentucky returns a lot
of starters including star running back Benny Snell (262 carries/1333 yards/5.1 avg/19 tds) and
who is one of the best RBs in the conference. The Cats were run-heavy last year because of Snell
and several other good backs and because of no real passing attack. A team that runs this much
will need a lot of blocking and four returning OL starters should help. Experience in the line should
also help with the development of a new starting quarterback. The defense has a chance to be
better than last year with nine starters returning, including the entire secondary and linebacker
corps. Youth in the defensive line is a real concern. If Kentucky is content with winning seasons
and middle tier bowl games, Stoops is probably their man. Another 5-7 win season seems likely for
2018.

Central Michigan.....@Florida.....Murray State.....Mississippi State.....South Carolina.....@Texas A&M
…..Vanderbilt.....@Missouri.....Georgia.....@Tennessee.....Middle Tennessee.....@Louisville

Sidenote: Kentucky is 4-12 against the spread as a home dog the past five years under Stoops.

Arizona is 16-1 against the spread playing with rest (open date) when playing an opponent who
won their last game straight up and against the spread. (Washington St., Nov. 17 game to track)

Stoops had better find a QB. Kentucky loses 8 starters on defense after this season, so it is do or die for them now.

West Virginia-N.C. State will be very interesting. Both look like 8-4 teams. Both are picked by many to finish 3rd in their respective divisions/conference. Both teams lose many players on defense. Points should be plenty in this one. Look for a possible "Total" play here.

Yeah, the Total will be high in this one with two good quarterbacks who can rope the ball. With good weather,
this game should see plenty of points.

SEC Power Rankings from ESPN.

With the SEC media Days taking place in Atlanta this week, ESPN released its SEC preseason
power rankings on Monday. Here are the full rankings from ESPN.

1. Alabama.....2. Georgia.....3. Auburn.....4. Mississippi State.....5. Florida.....6. South Carolina
7. LSU.....8. Texas A&M.....9. Kentucky.....10. Missouri.....11. Ole Miss.....12. Tennessee.....
13. Vanderbilt.....14. Arkansas

No surprise with Alabama and Georgia topping the list. Arkansas got a slap in the face by being
ranked behind Vanderbilt.

I would put Miss. State ahead of Auburn and South Carolina ahead of Florida. I would not under-estimate Mizzou. They can score
