Some Early Capsule looks at the Power 5 Conferences:

ACC: Atlantic...

1. Clemson. This is easy. The only surprise will come if they lose a game. Solid Offense and a Top 5 Defense.
2. Florida State. Only because they have a little more fire power returning than my pick for #3. Their D loses 8 starters.
3. N.C. State. Like Florida State, they will have to depend on their offense because the D loses 8 starters also.

Coastal...

1. Miami. With the demise of the Va. Tech secondary, this should be easy. Solid on both sides of the ball.
2. Va. Tech. No Clemson on the schedule, but they take a big hit on defense, returning 0 LB's and 1 secondary player.
3. Ga. Tech. 9 players return on the offense, and 6 on defense. They host Clemson and Miami. They will score points.

Big 10: East...

1. Michigan State. They have 10 starters returning on offense and 9 on defense. They host Michigan and Ohio State.
2. Ohio State. They will have to depend on their untested talent and a soft opening schedule.
3. Penn State. The offense returns 8 including QB McSorley, but the D returns only 2. Franklin has a soft schedule.

West...
1. Wisconsin. It's up to the offense, who returns 10 starters. The "D" is weak. Crossovers at Michigan and Penn State.
2. Northwestern. With 7 returning on offense and 6 on defense, they return the most balanced team.
3. Iowa. 7 return on offense, but only 2 starters on defense. An easy schedule really helps this team.

Big 12:

1. Oklahoma. 6 starters return on offense, plus a lot of experience. The defense returns 5, but must improve.
2. West Virginia. QB Grier leads 7 returnees on offense, The defense returns 4, but was never good to begin with.
3. Texas. 6 return on both sides of the ball, but the D will lead this team. Texas played 3 OT games last season (1-2).

Pac 12: North.

1. Washington. 7 on offense and 9 on defense return. A win against Auburn and UDub is a contender to win it all.
2. Oregon. 7 return on each side of the ball. The schedule sets up nicely for them. UDub and Stanford at home.
3. Stanford. 8 return on a solid offense, but only 4 starters on D. The schedule is brutal. Udub and Oregon away.

West:

1. Arizona. QB Tate +7 return on offense. 9 return in defense. USC and Oregon at home. Talk about flying under the radar.
2. USC. 6 return on offense, 7 on defense. A brutal schedule for a Freshman QB. Still they can win any game this season.
3. Utah. 7 return on a solid offense. The defense needs help returning only 4. Udub, Oregon Arizona and USC at home.

SEC: East:

1. Georgia. 8 starters on offense mean points. 5 returning on defense mean giving up points. The question is how many?
2. Florida. 10 starters on offense return for an offensive minded new HC. The D returns 6. LSU, Mizzou and S.Car at home.
3. South Carolina. * returnees on offense and 5 on defense will tell us just how far Muschamp has improved this team.

West:
1. Alabama. No brainer. 7 return on offense and 3 on defense. A very weak Division and schedule. Easy.
2. Miss. State. 9 returnees on offense and 7 on defense give new HC Moorhead a solid base to work with.
3. Auburn. 7 on offense and 6 on defense return. The schedule is a killer. @ Miss. St, Georgia an Alabama + Udub.
