Appreciate feedback

I’ve been playing for a long time now ... I feel I make good plays and win, but I always get bit in the ass with live lines

Example tonight: I had LAA ... Lad ties it in the 9th, man on 2nd no outs... I’m thinking it’s over ... I buy out and take LAD for -714 line ... 7140 for 1,000 .... then you know what happens... Alvarez with a eta above 5 gets out of it , Angels homer, come back and win ....

i feel discipline is huge at this game .....

how do you guys control that?

Oh man, I'm sick reading that. I've found that live betting can be dangerous when your emotions are running high... especially if you're pissed off about a bad break. When I can feel a game is coming to a turning point I just put my phone in a different room and try to avoid live betting at all costs. The only time I use live betting is to lock in profits when my pick is ahead. That is my rule of thumb.

Sorry about the bad break.

I don't do live lines in general . Takeout is 5% pregame versus 10% live game at my book so it makes no sense doing it. If your gonna do it look for plus money situations where a team is behind.

What is the takeout on your live lines?

Don’t live bet games using money lines. The prices get crazy jacked up and it’s just an awful gambling feeling. I’ve been burned a few times and had a few close calls and want enjoyable

Only use live betting for football and hoops using spreads.

The discipline you need is to stay with your original pick. When you made that you had the time to make a proper assessment of the variables without feeling the pressure of the moment.
You will lose some of those picks for sure. Don't expect to win every bet. And don't think that you can assure that outcome by betting into live lines as the game outcome probabilities go back and forth. Accept losses as they unravel. Just aim to have more net money at the end of the season than before.

Live lines are dangerous as you found out the hard way. A 1-7 bet is never good when the outcome is back to 1-1 with 2 outs. Think about that. The 7-1 bet was actually the play.

Good luck going forward.

You capped the game correctly, its important to stick with your initial pick/hunch. Don't waver from this in game because you will be sick when you lose when you original selection was the correct one. I like betting teams I cap to win when they trail early in a game because there is tremendous value . I lived the nightmare you experienced last night & vowed not to ever let it happen again. GL on your action always

Three words. Take the loss. If it looks like you're going to lose. Don't try and buy your way out.
Tomorrow is another day.

I agree with only live betting for plus or even money on a good team - maybe the red Sox are down by 2 in the early innings etc.

We've all done things we can learn from (and hopefully not repeat).

Get 'em next time.
