Why the Pirates on Saturday at +110...the Pirates roll into this matchup against the Reds after a 12-1 W in the series opener. Looking to make it 8 wins in a row, the Buccos will start Nick Kingham. Kingham is coming off of an encouraging home start against the Brewers where he picked up the W, allowing 3 ER over 6 IP on 5 H, 9 Ks and 1 BB. Kingham did allow 2 HRs in that outing, which we will not hold against him against a Reds lineup with zero exposure. Like Nick in this spot coming off of the layoff after posting FBv and SLv above SA in his LS. The scrappy Reds will hand the ball to Anthony DeSclafani who hasn't been so hot of late, posting a 6.90 era over his L15 IP where he allowed 16 H on 6 HRs to match 11 Ks and 4 BBs. 'Tony's numbers reflect that at home where he carries a 5.46 era over 28 IP on 30 H & 7 HRs allowed. With a .291 BABIP against at home compared to his .178 BABIP against on the road, this start spells trouble for DeSclafani going up against a hot Pirates lineup with a combined 90 ABs against. Going to fade 'Tony in this start after posting season velocity lows with all three pitches in his LS. Pirates with a league leading 1.77 bullpen era over their L14 Days compared to the Reds era of 7.64 during the same span. Pirates currently taking 46% of the action.
