Anyone use bitters on a regular basis to either help with digestion or to enhance alcoholic drinks ? Went to a bar in Maine this weekend that "specializes" in them and had a couple drinks that were fantastic. Spoke to the owner who gave my wife and I a brief overview of bitters and of course he raved about them. Ended up buying a bottle of Jamaican Ginger bitters and have just taken a few drops of it straight. Great flavor if you like ginger

The only thing I ever knew about Bitters was that it went into a manhattan or Old Fashioned drink.
Then I started watching Bar rescue and found out there are multiple favored bitters.

also years ago they were used to get rid of
hiccups

Bitters are a great addition to drinks. I have a collection in my bar. I use the bitter truth orange bitters for my old fashioneds. Also have bourbon barrel vanilla bitters that are also great in old fashioneds. The orange bitters are great in planters punch but you also need to add cinnamon sticks and ground nutmeg. You use peychaud bitters along with rye whiskey, a splash of absinthe with a sugar cube and a small piece of lemon zest. Bitters are a great addition to custom mixology.

The only time I ever heard of bitters is when Jerry Lewis orders an Alaskan Polar Bear Heater in the original Nutty Professor.

Also tried Underberg for the first time. Loved it and just ordered a case online.
I heard Urban Moonshine makes some good bitters. KennyB, ever use that brand?
