Why the Tigers on Tuesday at -110...the Tigers come into Tuesday's affair against the Royals after a Monday 5-4 win. Looking to take the series, the Tigers will turn to Jordan Zimmermann who has been sharp of late posting a 2.49 era over his L21 IP on 22 Ks and 1 BB. The most noticeable difference with Zimmermann over his L5 Starts compared to his F6 Starts is that his SLv is playing well above SA to a season high in his LS of 87.4 mph. This is encouraging vs. the strikeout prone lineup of the Royals who have not had much success against Big Zimm. In a combined 135 ABs, the Royals have posted a .252 BA/.294 OBP and 1 HR. In his career at Kauffman Stadium, Zimm has posted an unblemished 4-0 record over 39 IP on 32 H, 35 Ks, 6 BBs and 0 HRs. The Royals will hand the ball to Burch Smith who I honestly have never heard of before yesterday. Burch has pitched in both starting and relieving roles this season where he has posted a 5.98 era over 43 IP on 45 Ks, 22 BBs and 9 HRs. Burch's splits don't look much better as he has posted a home era of 6.46 over 23 IP on 28 H and 6 HRs to match a .349 BABIP against. It seems as if the league has caught up to Burch as his BABIP against has risen in each month of the season to a current .393 in July. Burch is yet to see the 5th inning this season and with the Royals 6.62 bullpen era over their L14 Days, that spells trouble. Public loving the Tigers today as the big cats are currently taking 82% of the action.
